Quit being a homer. It's okay to admit it. It sucks but we lost out. There's facts all over the place, or did you not see that?

I'm calling bullshit too.

Did the Chiefs try to trade up for Treadwell or Lynch? Which is it?

That's why I can't buy any of this shit. It's all so conflicting.

If not, I don’t buy it that Denver snuck up and we were blindsided by the pick.

The Front Offices know what teams are doing and the Chiefs would have been able to trade if they were so sold on drafting the kid.

I, personally, was intrigued with us taking the kid, and definitely didn't want him ending up in Denver. But, one isn't the same as the other.

The Chiefs don't let just let him get taken if he was their top target and they coveted picking him over making a move up 4 measly spots.

I think the sour taste of how it went down was fans- namely around here on CP, built up desire because he was discussed so much before Thursday night.

There were other teams that had been talked about drafting him before KC, also. It’s very possible he was already gone before 28 no matter what. Obviously, KC didn't see the value of going up to get him.
It was pretty obvious Denver was going to draft a QB after the way free agency turned out.

It was also obvious we were never going to draft one because Smith is under contract for two more years and had his best year as a Chief last year. Any idiot can see that Reid and Dorsey are concerned with trying to get to the promised land with this team, not starting a rebuild around an Osweiler clone.

I don't think what Denver did surprised anyone around the league and I don't think we were even interested.

Both IMO. Dorsey knew that the top guys on his board were going to be gone. Tried to get either. Didn't' work.

I would be pissed off if I was Dorsey. Your good friend John Schneider who worked with you for years in GB decides to **** you out of a QB by trading with your division rival.

This makes no sense. If Payton Lynch (a ****ing QB) is your guy you aren't thinking about Treadwell. You also aren't letting the obvious happen with Denver trading in front of you after you just handed them the division and essentially the ****ing SB. I just refuse to believe that.

If the Chiefs were looking at trading up for Lynch AND Treadwell, I'm glad they didn't take him because that means he truly wasn't their guy and they weren't locked in on him.

Paxton Lynch's agent said the Chiefs wanted to trade up for him.

"What happens in these last couple days is you're trying to interact with teams. Judge who has a sincere interest, make sure there are no lingering doubts, there are no issues and get the best sense you can in teams that are interested.

"I knew that there was an outside chance (Lynch) would go to the 11th pick to Chicago or New Orleans and then after that No. 20 to the New York Jets.

"When we started to get back to about 19, Dallas was trying to trade up so they kept us posted about the fact they were trying to trade up.

"And then later Kansas City was trying to trade up and they were keeping us acquainted. Before that ever happened, we got the call from Denver that they had made the trade."

If the Chiefs love Lynch and he's their QBOTF, they aren't sitting there watching him fall and worrying about Treadwell too. It doesn't make sense. If you can't understand that, I don't know what to tell you.

I've read the quote from the agent, but that doesn't tell me anything.

1. I can't believe a thing that comes out of an agents mouth.

2. How do I know Dorsey wasn't enticing Denver to trade up? What if the agent was using KC to entice them and just stuck with it?

You still can't make a reasonable argument on how Doesey was trying to trade up for Treadwell and Lynch. It makes absolutely no sense.

All of the contact with Lynch's agent just as well could have been a smokescreen. The draft is one big poker game. This agent obviously has a big mouth and no problem outing any team that comes in contact with him. Seems he could easily be used to distribute misinformation if someone felt inclined.

I mean really, why would you even need to speak with the agent until you actually were ready to make the pick unless it was to either get information on other teams or spread your own?
