He will take more hits running the ball. That makes him more susceptible to injury.

Shitty pocket passers do get hurt, because they don’t get rid of the ball quick enough. The good ones don’t get hurt very often. They have better awareness and avoid the hits.

My point is why risk the increased rate of injury to beat bad teams? Why put Jackson in that position against shitty competition if he’s perfectly capable as a passer? Seems very unnecessary.

OCs adjust their offenses based on the QBs strengths and weaknesses. If Lamar went to another team he would be fine.

I know Mahomes would still be great, but he wouldn’t be what we have seen to date. That’s all I was saying.

Jackson could succeed in some other spots so long as they coaches tinkered the plays to include the QB as a runner. Tennessee, SF come to mind.
