This is simple. You will play 4 CB's in nearly every game. Who cares who starts? I want 4 solid guys where there isn't an obvious guy to pick on by the opposing QB. Plus, when one goes down to injury (likely at some point), Williams or Baker or whoever else makes the team slides into the 4.

Wouldn't be a bad idea if it's a team-friendly deal. Just assumed that it would take a lot.

If the QB has all day to throw, that's not a secondary problem. That means the DL just isn't getting it done, despite the secondary holding up. If he's getting it out fast, that very well could be a secondary problem. Until that rank is presented, the #5 in hurries doesn't mean much because we have no context.

It could also be that the Chiefs had a tough schedule and the 1 seed schedule, so they played a lot better veteran or talented QBs and didn’t play against hardly any inexperienced scrubs. The only QBs they played last year that would be classified as inexperienced were: Burrow, Daniel Jones, Heinecke, and Jalen Hurts, and each of them had at least year one under the belt. The only rookie QB they faced was Jordan Love, and they wrecked him.
Beyond that, they didn’t have to play any of the truly dreadful teams last year like the Jets, Jags, Seahawks, or Lions. This is all to say when you’re playing better coaches teams with veteran or talented QBs, they’re going to be better at getting the ball out quicker. |
