You took that from the press conference? He's going to live, and most likely choose whether or not he wants to play football again as long as they can exclude any other reasons for the cardiac arrest other than the blow to the chest at the exact precise millisecond.

I’m honestly shocked he’s already progressed this far. Maybe I’m pessimistic, but I just assumed at best he would have significant brain damage. He still has a long ways to go in his recovery, but this is awesome to see

I guess what I was trying to say is that yes, it looks like he's going to recover and live. However, you never know if it might take a turn. Derrick Thomas looked like he was going to live right after that crash. I know, not exactly the same thing but it still illustrates the point.

There actually is a chance he could play in the postseason, but I doubt they go there. If he comes of the intubation soon, he would have some lung recovery time, a week or so, and there could be damage to his heart and circulation. But absence that, he could possibly be ready to play in 2-3 weeks. However, again, that is highly unlikely.
