Forget the Clemson kid, he won't see the field much if at all. Gray is a better option and we run some 2 TE sets. He's got the athletic ability.

You said it may not be a good thing that Hardman has basically secured that role. You know what else isn't a good thing? Hardman NOT securing that role because he's way more Demarcus Robinson and Byron Pringle than he is Sammy Watkins in terms of ability. If he weren't securing that WR role, it was extremely unlikely it was because Powell was soooo good in the offense already. It was probably going to be because Hardman was sucking eggs.

Your take isn't stupid because it's "not what Chiefs fans want to hear." It's stupid because it's just plain stupid.

Bwillie's take is based on the premise that Hardman sucks and that we "already know what we have in him". If you're of the mindset that Hardman sucks, then sure, i can see why another WR not challenging him would be viewed as a bad thing.

What's ignorant is saying that a guy who's put up 1100 yards and 10 TD's in two seasons as a limited snap, part time player, "sucks".

That kind of production, not even including his returns, says "EXPLOSIVE". It doesn't say suck.

We should all be excited about what that kid is about to do in a full time role, not lamenting it.

He had chances last year with Sammy out a bit and didn't capitalize. Obviously I hope he turns into a monster, I just don't see it happening. I expect an uptick on targets and yards, but only due to necessity. I hope he proves me wrong.
You have to remember that last year was not like any year in NFL history. Everything was locked down during the off-season.

Mecole could not get any help bc he had to sit at home. He could not improve his route running bc of lock downs.

He didn’t really have a chance to get better and it showed

I don't think that would be good news at all.

If Powell were outplaying Hardman, people would be saying it's a horrible sign that a slow, 5th round rookie is outperforming the 3rd year vet.

He only played 45% of the offensive snaps.

During his BEST SEASON with the Chiefs Sammy Watkins played 70% of the snaps and barely had 100 yards more, and fewer TDs.

Really hard not to be excited about the opportunity coming for Mecole.

I’m holding off on judgment of Hardman & Niang until I see them in game action.

It’s only fair right?

I’m trying to be fair. I’ve jumped to conclusions on him but I’m willing to let him prove how good he is just like Hardman.

My expectations aren’t very high for either one so they have that going for them.
