The detoxification stuff is bullshit, but the rest seems to be in line with accepted research.

My point is, we live in a society where low-carb diets are highly publicized and are the so-called thingys for fat burning nowadays. And suppose a majority follow the low carb plan, where on earth is this high concentration of glucose in the muscle cells going to come from when youre not supplying it from your diet to begin with? Unless, you want to make that argument that protein is broken down in the muscle tissue because the body doesn't have "enough" of glucose and wants to make more of it from protein and use it as a preference so it makes glucose since it prefers it first before anything else and will do what it can to get its hands on it to meet the demands of physical activity so it can supply itself with energy. This is my little brother BeeJay who is only 14 years old. He has always been an AMAZING inspiration to be as a little brother. As an older brother the day he was born I signed a contract for life to help him mentally and physically. So when i really notice he was getting a little to big I had sat him down and had a great talk about health and fitness. I told him to sacrefise 1 hour a day to workout, he agreed. His workout has been cardio, such as jump rope and light weight training. This is his before and after picture.

They are not exactly two different things. They are practically the same thing. Glycogen derives from glucose. It only becomes glycogen in a converted from.
But glycogen is there in the body for a reason. To act as a reserve in case the body doesn't have enough glucose supply to begin with. So if it doesn't the body turns to glycogen that is stored either in the liver or muscle cells. It is then broken down by glucagon and becomes reconverted back into glucose and released into the bloodstream so your body can use it for energy. |

No, not tired of it at all. I did figure it was better to write everything down in one place than have it all over everywhere, though

Welp, it's official. I have a strained tendon or something going on. Shitty, shitty day in the gym from a burn perspective. I lifted, which was fine. But spending 15 minutes on the bike, and then 15 on the elliptical just further hurt me. Limped home. Going to have to take it easy for the next couple of days I guess. I'm hoping my high top basketball shoes will give me some support and help me at least get a half ass workout in. If not, I'm done until it's healed.
I didn't realize it yesterday, but it's my achilles tendon that is strained. Probably from the increased mileage and frequency of my running. |

Glycogen in the long run still becomes glucose they are NOT different. They are only different in substance form. Yes glycogen acts as a reserve itself and the body has to depend on it when it is low on glucose, therefore, it becomes converted back into glucose only so it can get more of it, then tell me, if thats the case, what difference in function is it going to have? Glycogen can still be looked upon as an energy source. no? I am telling you this because you told me the body is going to have high levels of glucose or glycogen whatever in a fasted state, when Im trying to say no, it will not be the case. Not when you're on a low carb diet and when you train first thing in the morning on an empty stomach when both your insulin levels, and glycogen levels are low. But you said, the glycogen levels in the muscle cells will be high? In the morning too, on an empty stomach. And to me, Im sorry, but I can't grasp that because I can't see how thats the case? first of all, how are they going to be high? when your body is not getting enough glucose supply from your diet to begin with? Put that into perspective for a minute and combine that with the fact that your body is pretty much zapped of nutrients in a fasted state. How is it going to be the case then where your levels of glucose in the muscle cells are going to be high? Especially since you haven't fed the body in a while #1, and you are not getting enough of it from your diet #2, AND knowing it consumed a lot of it while you were resting at night in your sleep! So can see where Im trying to come from here? I just don't agree with you, Im having a hard time doing so. *Fasted state cardio has to be more effective. You're training your body off practically low levels of both insulin and glycogen and you give your body a chance to attack the low levels of glycogen right away so it can consume it up. Which is awesome because once it consumes it all up, then it'll attack the ketones. Thats a big difference imo compared to training later on in the day when you give your body a chance to get those levels back up after lets say consuming 50 grams of carbs. Then what? Your body uses that first and has a higher level of it in contrast to what it had earlier on in the morning. The process to attack the fats becomes a lot slower imo since it has burn those higher levels of 50 grams of carbs first. Im doing this off experience and Im finding it to be true. I'll also look into the hand bike and hopefully my gym has one. Thanks for the heads up on that. This is my first injury in 2 years of going to the gym. I've been incredibly lucky, and this isn't even that bad. I just want to make sure it doesn't get that bad. ![]() |
