The Chiefs running game was equally struggling at this time of the season last year as well.

Damien Williams was averaging less than 2 YPC, McCoy was fumbling, etc.

Hopefully CEH will improve with more experience as the season progresses.

DRob was open on the right side of the field. Not sure if he had the first down yardage, but it would've been about a 7-10 yard pick up.

But the pick was the worst decision I've seen Patrick make since that INT against the Patriots in that 2018 regular season match-up at the end of the game. There was no way anyone, not even Patrick was completing that pass. Especially bad considering the down and distance, their position on the field.

He wasn't as sharp as he usually is, and he started pressing, which is likely why he threw that INT.
Aside from the INT and a few inaccurate throws, I thought he was pretty damn good. The O-line and running game sucked, and there were several drops and penalties that stalled drives.

Sounds like you’re expecting perfection. If the defense had played well and the two TDs hadn’t been wiped out, would you be calling this his worst game? Hell no you wouldn’t. That would be a 5 TD 1 INT 400+ yd W. You’d probably be calling it one of his best.

Drafting CEH was a luxury we really couldn't afford. We would have been far better off drafting a LB or a C/OG. If we were in the wrong place then move up or down. Jump up a couple of spots and grab Ruiz if need to. The interior of our offensive line is bad. Our Linebackers are terrible.

It can really be difficult to win if you are squishy soft in the middle on both sides of the ball.

Maybe. IMO he's too small and slow to be "the guy." He's a decent complimentary RB, but not a #1. Would have been great to have he and Damian.

Running is situational. This team should NEVER run the ball on 1st and 10 unless they have a big lead in the second half.

We should probably actually play for 4 downs more often and choose to run more on 2nd and short and 3rd and short because that really can make us unexploitable and enable us go deep when we choose to.

Heck, some of his best plays of the game were receivers dropping the ball or penalties by other guys on the Chiefs. That's the kind of day it was.

I think the guys in the trenches (OL/DL) deserve most of the blame. KC secondary was also terrible.

At the risk of repeating myself, it's not a matter of how many carries. It's a matter of when those carries come.

We've gotten really, really predictable. And now we're giving stuff away with both personnel and formation.

If I can sit at home during a 24-24 tie in the 3rd quarter and successfully predict what plays are coming, like today, that's a problem.

That's what I'm saying. Not that CEH is getting too many carries or even that we should pass more. When we should be less predictable because of his presence, the opposite is happening. The offense is actually less dynamic. Due I believe to the plays being called...

It's something that they should be able to work out.

Defense has two opportunities to get the ball back for the offense in the last 3 minutes. Failed both times

From reading snippets of the game thread, sounds like this is one of those forgettable games.

We are too streaky within a game. Score multiple TDs in one quarter and look lifeless for an entire half. It happened many times during the Smith era and is beginning to show itself now. The running game is not complementing Mahomes for various reasons. The OL is simply not built for a defense to respect the run.
While we are still favorites to win the AFC you have to wonder how many hero ball games will Mahomes be able to deliver.

And the offensive had all third quarter to add points. While the D shut them out that quarter
