I think something is off with Tyreek this year.

I think he may have lost a step.

If I can sit at home during a 24-24 tie in the 3rd quarter and successfully predict what plays are coming, like today, that's a problem.

That's what I'm saying. Not that CEH is getting too many carries or even that we should pass more. When we should be less predictable because of his presence, the opposite is happening. The offense is actually less dynamic.

It's something that they should be able to work out.
Their passing plays are predictable too. That's part of not running the ball enough.

The simple fact is that when the defense drops 7 or 8 on every play you HAVE to run the ball at least some. You can't drop back 40+ times and expect it to work, even with Mahomes.

I know we didn't play well, missed throws, dropped passes, penalties taking away 2 Mahomes TD passes, but I am all in on the terrible play calling. That's 2 games in a row that hung Mahomes and the offense out to dry with almost zero crossing patterns or short to intermediate routes.

It's all good for Mahomes to take what the defense gives them, but if most of the routes are 20 yards down field, there really isn't anything for him to take. KO going out hurt, and this coaching staff better find some answers when it comes to run blocking.

This loss and performance are doubly horrible because it was the Raiders. Fuuuuuuuhhhck.

Ward was bad today.

Mathieu was off.

Fenton was good.

Sounds like you’re expecting perfection. If the defense had played well and the two TDs hadn’t been wiped out, would you be calling this his worst game? Hell no you wouldn’t. That would be a 5 TD 1 INT 400+ yd W. You’d probably be calling it one of his best.
Haha, no, I never expect perfection, because I know it's basically impossible to achieve.

Regardless of stats, which I keep saying are not the whole story, Patrick missed several dead easy throws, however he missed them, but at least a few of them the receiver was WIDE open. That's a little concerning. The miss to DRob in the middle of the field to keep that drive alive was a real head-scratcher as well. He didn't just miss; he missed by miles, for Mahomes.

But the decision to throw the INT pass was just bad. There's no excuse for throwing that ball there. And he wasn't trying to draw a DPI either, or we would've seen him gesturing for a flag right after the play.

Look, if we'd won, if those bad holding calls hadn't erased two TDs, I'd still be questioning why Mahomes missed those easy throws and why he threw that INT pass.

Not saying Patrick is the reason the team lost, just saying he didn't help on those plays, and those plays were strictly on Patrick.

I don't think he's lost a step. I do wish we found ways to get him the ball more, though. Was he even targeted in the 2nd half?

I wonder if Fenton is going to take Wards spot outside. Who is going to play the slot? I don't think Ward is quick enough to handle it.

Fenton was one of the few bright spots today.

Yep.

And Thornhill made a couple of costly mistakes too.

EDIT: Forget to mention that Sorenson probably had one of the worst games of his career.

So what do you suggest he do on that 3rd down then? Take the sack and lose the game? You throw that ball up. Forever and always. Great job by Mahomes there for not stat quarterbacking.

Yea, he was but Mahomes didn't have time to throw the slow-developing deep routes that Andy keeps giving Hill.

Same plays, no surprises either.
