*****2020 NFL DRAFT THREAD - NO SPOILERS*****

Version 2020 - WORLD CHAMPION EDITION

We are now within 24 hours - Cincinnati is on the clock.

Let's ****ing do this.

Rules:
1. No spoiled picks in this thread, all weekend. This means that as tweets are leaking picks a few minutes before the selection is announced live, you don't post it in this thread (ex: embedded tweets), reference it in this thread (ex: Joe Slapdick says it's So and So to Green Bay) or hint at it (ex: "it's a RB!").

2. Don't be a dick.

Otherwise, have fun, talk shit, freak out and lose your goddamned minds. It's Draft Weekend. The hot takes in these threads are so funny. I'll also be starting player threads for each of our picks as they are made, with videos and notable stats/takes in the OP. Pure knee jerk gold to reference in the future.

Here is our current pick order:
Here is a list of the prospects the Chiefs have shown interest in this year.

As ChiefsPlanet Turns:

Homers are ascendant on ChiefsPlanet. A decade ago, you wouldn't have seen homers piling on the skeptics/critics. Homers were the pilees in those days.

A decade ago the Chiefs drafted like asshole more often than not, the Chiefs have drafted more pro bowl players than any other team in the league in the last 5-7 years, so it's easier to like their picks.

Sure. I just hope we all understand this is a result of the Chiefs team performance more than CP user draft expertise.

Agreed. I caught a bunch of shit for suggesting the Chiefs take a running back early in this draft and even at #32 overall.

Most of these Chiefs fans are casual fans and after decades of "Offensive Line!' being their favorite picks, they just don't understand positional value and how the NFL has changed over the course of the past 3 decades.

But now, they're all "Hey, I LOVE THIS GUY!", even though they all wanted a ****ing center or guard, lol.

The Cesar Ruiz shit is a CP classic. Just like Bradbury had to be the chosen one a year ago.

Gotta jack off for interior fatties every year. He is risen.

I've never understood IOL love in the first myself. I'm not a big fan of RB in 1 either but I'd rather have a skill guy of any kind than IOL. Too easy to take flawed college tackles and turn them into good players on the interior in round 3-4.

The Chiefs are drafting THEIR guy because it just works for what they want to accomplish. That's how they won the Super Bowl.

The team actually has a history of this kind of draft strategy, but just executed it extremely ****ing poorly. For example, remember that time when Carl wanted to take our dynamic Vermeil offense and kick it up another notch? Enter: Kris Wilson! Yeah! Electric!

I had the Chiefs going Ruiz in my final mock, but that’s why I had the caveat “this isn’t what I would do”.

OL is such a ****ing boring 1st round pick that I almost never ever want it to happen even when I like the player.

Something else to watch today, good chance Trent Williams gets moved. Speculation is a Late 3 or a 4th rounder mixed with something on day 3 like a 6.

Jeff Chadiha said on 810 this morning that he heard that the Chiefs were high on corners and thought it was the right spot to pounce. Talked about the Auburn corner whose name I never get right.

I had a feeling that ****er was a Spags corner which is why I predicted him in staylor’s prediction thread.

Knowing that, you have to think corner/DB is what they will be looking for tonight. I’m feeling Dantzler if we go corner.

Everybody I wanted got drafted way high. I am gonna do myself a favor and just chalk that up to other teams also seeing something in the guys I like.

I wanted Swift but I'm an idiot who doesn't even watch college football.

I could not be happier about this kid and I need to step away because I'm going loony tunes on where I'm projecting his numbers.

Hopefully this isn’t a repeat of last year where all the CBs go high that Veach is targeting.
