How are the Chiefs victims of this? We have Mahomes and Kelce who have star power. Ratings are not low for Chief games.

That said - look there's a reason why you have to appreciate guys like Bird, Magic, MJ. LeBron etc... It goes beyond what they do on the court they have charisma that you simply can't teach.

Unfortunately SGA doesn't have that, Duncan didn't either but at least the Spurs had the fundamental basketball game and Pop's eccentric interviews that could attract some viewers. It's tough with Thunder because they don't seem to have anything that can draw an average NBA viewer to watch much less someone who doesn't even watch it casually. That said, I'll def be watching and plenty of other people will too so who cares?

I wasn't talking about ratings, I was talking more about the way the fans and the league perceive certain teams. They don't think that small market teams belong on the big stage and no amount of winning will change that. If you aren't one of the chosen you will be dismissed.

Why didn't they give them the time? It didn't even look like they went to the monitor to review it. If the fan is part of out of bounds, then the second it touches him it's out. Is that not the rule? I honestly don't know. He didn't reach in to touch it. The ball just came right to him and he caught it. This bugs me more now. The difference between 0.3 and 0.6 is pretty big in that moment. It could have swung the Western Conference Finals. If they have an extra 3 tenths they might have tried a catch and shoot 3 to win the game.

And I'm rooting for OKC btw

The clock should be stopped when it touches anyone out of bounds. The correct time was 0.6. They couldn't review the time however because the clock didn’t completely expire (which is bizarre) so they just” guessed” and appeased the crowd by adding 0.2.

From the NBA ref report:
"Gilgeous-Alexander (OKC) throws the ball toward the sideline, where it is touched by a spectator out of bounds. The game clock runs down to 00:00.1. After conferencing, the officials reset the game clock to 00:00.3. Since the clock did not reach 00:00.0, instant replay cannot be triggered in this situation."
