Best BBQ joint in KC area?

We are driving down to KC and I usually go to Gates, but want to try something different this time around.

I'm looking to go to the absolute best BBQ joint in the KC area for dinner tonight and figured you guys would know best. Maybe a few of you want to come out and eat with us.

What say you, CP?

It is decent food has a nice smokey flavor. Used to not live very far away and would hit it up but I don't really make special trips there. I like its front patio area.

Gate's...I don't mind being yelled at by the order taker that is whatever. But their system for getting the orders must be the most inefficient thing that has ever existed. You have to repeat your order 5 times and tell them if you want fries or not 10 times. HI MAY I HELP YOUUUU....again I would not mind you yelling at me if you would just listen when I respond.

I like Gates every now and again. It is super close to me in midtown. I like their burnt ends and beef but think their ribs are often poor and IMO low quality.

I'll assume they stole Q39's or Hawg Jaw's recipe, if that's the case.

You can't taste pictures, but the photo of Zardas Burntends does look very good.

I was surprised they made it passed the first round. I tried them again last week, just to see if I was missing something. Dry and not smoky. However, their brisket was good.

Had Q39 on Opening Day. Still hard to beat IMO.

Wabash isn't too bad on a good day, but I'll make a 45 minute trip for some KC Joe's.

Well it is the KC Star what do they have now a couple hundred subscribers.
I dont get over to Zardas much but when I have I had no complaints.

Q39 Q39 Q39 its a broken record here. Seriously if its the only place you eat BBQ in KC area how would you even know what the others are like. Same with Joes KC which I like very much but there are many joints that have good Que. I remember when Jackstack was all the rage in here and people kept justifying it because of the cheesy corn

Has anyone ordered Jack Stack or Joe’s on-line & had it delivered?

I want to put out a spread for some out of town guests from Wyoming at the lake & wanted to give them some good KC BBQ.

Jack Stack or Joe’s would be great.
