Alex Smith Traded to Chiefs

Well, it looks like the deal is done.

https://twitter.com/intent/user?scre...w_p=tweetembed

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I'm told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith.

It was originally Cam and Gabbert, and then after Gabberts pro day, it was exclusively Cam because they saw what everyone except the jags saw. Gabbert sucked.

So, you're avoiding the answer?

And furthermore, you mother****ing HACK, it was a Pre Season, off the cuff remark in which I stated that MAYBE, with a phenomenal offensive line and pass protection, Matt Cassel could be Trent Green 2.0.

It wasn't a definitive statement and it's nothing that ANYONE has mentioned, other than you.

If that's all you've got on me for 13 years, I guess I'm doing well. The same can't be said for you.

That's ridiculous. If anything, the standard should be Cam Newton.

Regardless, you're deflecting the point. Even if Andrew Luck were the bar, Cam Newton is a millimeter under it.

So with that being the case, why isn't everyone in love with Geno Smith?

Keep telling yourself that.

In 1999, Tim Couch went #1 overall. So that argument is nothing but bullshit. One year after one of the most NFL ready QBs of all time went #1.

So please stop this hyperbole bullshit that talent evaluators in the NFL are strictly dropping Geno Smith down because of Andrew Luck.

It's an absurd argument.

Between loving Matt Cassel AND Alex Smith, NO ONE should EVER take anything you say in regards to QBs seriously on this board ever again.

You're going to get ****ed UP, Dane.

Honest question: if it is true that we gave up a 2nd and 3rd round draft pick for a two year stopgap, how will you feel about the compensation for the trade?

I agree. Except, i think the standard should be that you arent drafting in the top 15 for the next DECADE at least. Thats what you hope when you draft a qb number one, that you arent back there. Like the Patriots, and Packers havent been.

My concern is the grey area where he plays just well enough but most of us feel he's not going to take the next step. I don't know how Reid or Dorsey will react to that situation, but I am really worried about it, whether that's fair to them or not.

I think the #34 and a third round choice is likely too much compensation for Smith. But, if it's a swap of seconds and a third round choice next year, I'll find that far more palatable.

That said, neither will piss me off. You know what pissed me off? Giving up a 2nd and 3rd for Dick Vermeil. You know what else pissed me off? Giving up a fourth rounder for Herm Edwards.

I thought giving up a second for Cassel was ****ing stupid since Sanchez was likely to be there at #3 overall but in the end, the results would have likely mirrored each other.

So with this trade, I'm taking a wait and see approach before reacting like a bitch that just got dumped at prom.

Do I really need to? Every other word out of your filthy sewer is about how great this trade is for the Chiefs.

If we pass on Geno Smith for Trent Green 3.0 it's going to be the WORST ****ING THING EVER.

AND YOU WILL BE FORCED TO EAT ALL THIS SHIT.
