Pats Cheating Comfirmed

According to the report, the league sources say the NFL determined 11 of the 12 footballs used by the Patriots were under-inflated by two pounds per square inch each. Per NFL rules, footballs are required to be inflated between 12.5 and 13.5 PSI and weigh between 14 and 15 ounces.

Deal is it was learned over time. Probably about the time they started cheating. And I'd bet for most, there is a lack of respect at the foundation of their dislike. I know that my feelings have changed towards them since their Parcells / Bledsoe / Brady Super Bowl appearance and their improbable win over the Rams. Back then I respected them. That's not the case anymore. It has nothing to do with winning. It has everything to do with cheating.

At this point I'm not going to move the needle one iota no matter how much I talk, so I'll just put up one post here. What will be, will be.

I will say that a SCOTUS appeal is unlikely to succeed by either side (as in the SCOTUS probably won't take the case), but is even less likely to succeed if Brady/NFLPA loses. If that's what happens, then this is just another ho-hum arbitrator's decision upheld, which is what the federal courts VERY strongly favor, so there isn't much compelling for the SCOTUS to look at.

The other thing to get out of this, either way really, is that the NFLPA will probably go to the mat, absolutely to WAR, over the arbitration section of the CBA. And the NFL may dig in its heels. Not knowing much else about what may at issue, I wouldn't be surprised to see a strike/lockout in 2020 or whenever the CBA is up for renewal over this. And it's pretty easy to see both side's positions on the matter. The NFL wants discretion to penalize player misconduct, while the NFLPA thinks Goodell does whatever he wants, whenever he wants, without notice or any regard for the rules in place or the history of how similar issues are handled in the past.

Finally, it's truly unbelievable we're still dealing with this more than a year later.

Carry on with your Pats hating, or Brady defending, as you prefer.

I think Goodell should just destroy his cell phone - that will fix everything...

The Pats arrogance is what the whole case is about, not footballs. They decided to act like they were above the NFL and Brady decided to act like is an untouchable player that doesn't have do what the commish says or comply.

Berman was a idiot who ignored the CBA and these guy are not apparently. Good for them.
