And I like this snipet particularly in regards to Elijah's game. People can get on him (not necessarily here) and Releford for scoring a point between them, but part of the game is keeping the other team from scoring. I also think this is a reason why Self misses on some high profile recruits where others land multiples.

"Guard Elijah Johnson (five assists, one turnover) didn’t score a point, and neither did the man he guarded, three-point shooter, Brady Heslip.

“I didn’t see any reason to let him catch the ball,” Johnson said. “He’s not a threat if he can’t catch the ball. So I planned on not letting him be a threat.”

Defense always comes first at Kansas.

“That’s our team,” Johnson said. “That’s our program. Anybody can score. That’s why you’re in college basketball. But we can defend.”

It can be difficult for players to accept that because scoring is more naturally enjoyable than preventing someone else from doing it.

“I bought into it since the summer I got here,” Johnson said. “I definitely did because he knows something I don’t know, and I take his word for it.”

@Tech is the only road game they've won this season, but it looks like they've been playing better lately and it could be a trap game for Kansas, sitting between trips to Baylor and KSU.

They do fine against them at AFH, but haven't won in Stillwater in the past couple of trips, including 2008.

They play in Stillwater 2 days after MU comes to AFH, so that might suck.

If Kansas loses one more and beats Mizzou, they will finish 15-3.

If Mizzou wins out except for the Kansas game, they will finish 15-3.

So the conference would only be half yours

It is going to be a great end to the conference season. Both Mizzou and Kansas control their own destinies...win out and you win the conference. Should be a great couple of weeks.

Well yeah, the shared (with Texas) conference titles are counted towards our 7 in a row streak. Sharing it with MU would still make it our 8th. I don't mind it.

It would be a fitting end to everything. I want to Mizzou to win out, of course, but tying for the Big XII title would be a great end to the season, given how the expectations of this team at the beginning of the year.
