Back Surgery

Anyone had any experience with having multiple discs removed?

The reason I ask is tomorrow morning I'm going to have two more (had L5-S1 removed and fused already) removed. I'll end up with L3-L4-L5-S1 all fused together.
I haven't ran across anyone IRL who has had this done so I figured I'd of course come to the fountain of all knowledge and ask.
Just wondering how well it worked out, how much pain relief, effect on day to day life, etc.

Is it scatica? Damaged vertebra?

I know the motivating factor is pain relief but Whats the underlying issue? PM me if you want it to remain private.

Discs are flattened and pressing up against the spinal cord. I have the sciatica along with the feeling of the vertebrae grinding against each other.

Damn man that sounds like a lot of pain that Tylenol wont fix. You never tried Oxy? Afraid of getting hooked?

Ha! Took that Oxycontin ride years ago. Back when my Dr. handed me the script and said I'm switching you over to these, they're not supposed to be addictive like the pain pills you've been taking.

I'd just like to add that every member of the Sackler family better pray to god I never get a terminal diagnosis for anything. I got a score to settle.

Hey mods, I had a thread about back surgery back in 2003. Can we delete this so we don't have multiple threads on back surgery?

Thanks. Got to keep this mega thread things alive.

Oh and hope all goes well tomorrow.

Buprenorphine, almost completely off of that. But now I'm going to have to go back on pain meds until I recover from this.

Ever try Kratom? Lots of people have gotten off Opiates with it and it does wonders for pain. Idk what state you are in, but it is legal in most and you can actually pick it up in head shops/gas stations, but the best stuff is purchased online and the price is a lot lower if purchasing online.

If you have Netflix watch The Leaf of Truth. Its a documentary on Kratom. I really hope you give it a shot, because I think itd really help you be mostly pain free.

Does your doctor doing the surgery know that you bupe? It makes your tolerance sky high and I think they usually have to give something stronger than they usually do because of the increased tolerance.

Yeah the surgery in the OP even if it goes perfect, there will be some post op pain that taking a couple of Advil aint going to cut it. Let us know how your doing post op, we will give you some slack if it comes off as a X-Factor rambling thing.

Never tried it but I will look into it.

And yea, he knows. I went off the bup a week ago in preparation for the surgery. They gave me a script for a small amount of pain meds to help deal with the pain and the withdraws from the bup. It wasn't enough. Been in a lot worse pain and going through withdraws all week.
