I actually called this in another thread. I read somewhere that he's pretty devout in his religious beliefs and that's the type of player McKenzie is looking for. Less likely to embarrass the team off the field. Unless somehow KC and JAX both pass on Geno, in which case Geno may be picked up in the 1st to develop.
Honestly though, I doubt the Raiders take a QB in the 1st with so many other pressing needs on the roster. They'll either keep rolling with Palmer or pick up a stop-gap until 2014 while they continue burning away the chaff.

Things seem to be looking up in OAK.

Makes sense to start him, so why no Stanzi for the chiefs?

Pryor wasn't horrible in his first start. Didn't get all frantic & do crazy stuff like Tebow - very poised. Throws a weird kinda lob ball, but had a lotta dropped catchable passes, too. Might actually be worth keeping & training. He had three TDs today, Raiders had zero in the prior two games.
Rivers: 13 completions for 151 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT, -3 yards rushing Pryor: 13 completions for 150 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT, 49 yards rushing, 1 rushing TD |

Wow, your cat is taller than 6' 1"? That's a big cat.
Seems like the guy has pretty decent stats to me. And yet you seem to believe that he's a significant drop-off in talent from Smith and Barkley. Do tell.

Smith and Barkley are a significant drop-off in talent from Luck and RGIII. If you're happy to settle for a QB of substandard skill, you are rooting for the right team. Palmer is better than any "little person" available in next yerar's draft.
The Raiders could take a flyer on a prospect this year, (Landry, Bray, etc...), but they're still trying to figure out what they have with Pryor. They should go to Saskatchewan to find a QB. I love Regina, I love Regina, I love Regina...(repeat this as a mantra when you feel down about the Raiders) |

They can't all be like Rivers, you know, the QB that led his team to a Lombardi.
No, not Rivers, who was that SD QB that led his team to a Lombardi? You talk like Sandy Eggo is some powerhouse franchise.

Quote:
He is not a finished product, but I think there is something Oakland can work with. There are a lot of young, dynamic quarterbacks in this league. I think Oakland had to make developing Pryor quickly a priority. Carson Palmer is 33, expensive, and not improving. If Pryor makes big strides in the offseason, I don’t think it would be a terrible idea for Oakland to consider handing him the starting job. This team will be still rebuilding for the next couple of years. Might as well give the kid a chance. If he sucks worse than he did today, you can throw him in the middle of the shit pile of failed Raiders QBs. Of course, sitting at the top of that shit mountain is Mr. Russell. |
