Has this always been their return policy? I've never had to return anything to them. For some reason, I had it in my mind that return shipping was free.

As I've explained elsewhere over the years, my family uses Amazon for almost everything now. We've purchased everything from dog food to computer parts, home appliances (I bought a deep freeze on Amazon ) and even toilet paper. Between their delivery policies and their return policy, they're just too damn convenient. And you'll almost always find the lowest price as well. |

Can't you just buy the replacement and be sending the bunk one back for a refund?

UGH, cant handle ECS , stands for extremely crappy shit - terrible
Just for fun, the x79 chipset ASUS Rampage board (very high end board) has MASSIVE failure/doa/RMA issues. Just like cars, any manufacturer can end up with problems. The only brand I 100% would stay away from is ECS. |

This is turning into a debacle.
I got in a Gigabyte mobo. I set everything up, and the rig fires up. I set the boot priority to load the OS from one of my HDDs, and although BIOS sees it, Win 7 won't load. I know that you usually have to reactivate your key when you switch a mobo, but I've never seen this happen before. Mobo is a GA-970A-DS3P HDD w/ the OS installed is a Hitachi w/ SATA 3.0.

Hardware changes can always make your windows wonky, especially mobo. In reality, regardless of the reason, if its not booting, and the normal repair shit does not work, you are pigenholed into a full reinstall anyways~ edit: remember to make sure your boot devices and other settings are correct in your new BIOS |

Now I've spent the last hour ****ing with the display driver because Windows says it isn't digitally signed and I don't know how to get around it. I've tried downloading the drivers and installing them from a CD, and neither works.

Fixed the driver adapter issue, and now M$ is giving me shit about the legitimacy of my legit copy of Windows.

OS goes by MAC address so anytime you replace a mobo it's going to want another license. You could always google a registry fix for it though if you don't want to drop $99 or whatever it is for Windows..

updates, drivers, fixes, all finished without doing a thing. Some of the drivers were better than the component website offered. Sorry for you troubles. My HDs, video cards and ram and stuff are top notch [Crucial, Asus, Seagate, GeForce, HP, etc] but my my monitor is a cheapo POS [Envision 22" flatscreen], but even it was no problem. I literally put the installation disc in with a blank HD and came back to log onto Chiefsplanet and watch HDTV without doing a ****ing thing. I would add for what it's worth, I've had 3 Asus Mobo's in 10-12 years and never had an issue until my P4 CPU crapped out on me a few years back [lost a HVAC and TV in that episode as well]. Unless things radically change, I'll probably never stray from Asus. It, Sony ES, and Trader Joe's are my primary brand faithfuls.
