Donnie Anderson was pretty okay for the Packers and Zach Thomas did good for the Dolphins.

And Wes Welker turned out decent for the Patriots. Player never to be mentioned again actually kicked well for the Cowboys but sucked for the Chiefs, so there's that. Crabtree was unstoppable at Tech but much like TO, if he could catch passes with his mouth, he'd never drop one since his mouth is always open.

In the last ten/fifteen years, we're seeing more offensive lineman making into the league. Historically our running backs have been fast as hell, but too small for the NFL--same as our receivers.

We haven't had a defense since Coach Spyke Dykes retired.

We do have a promising young stud, true freshman, at quarterback this season who through for 605 yards against Houston and broke Mahomes' freshman record. Alan Bowman is a pocket guy with a very accurate arm and incredible poise. We'll see how he turns out. If he keeps improving while in college, he may make it in the league as well.

One benefit to Mahomes' experience at Tech with no defense is that watching the opposition score has never rattles him. Hell, I think it excites and motivates him.
Oh my! Ftfy

Uhh... you realize Jimmy Johnson was going for it on 4th down regularly in FG range by the end of his tenure there precisely because he wasn't good right? PARTICULARLY in cold weather.

He was 26 of 39 in Dallas. That sucks. It's amazing anyone hired him after that.

This for sure!

Imagine if we can tighten up and substantially fix this defense?

Seems it will be very difficult to fix this defense. Secondary is a huge mess. But maybe part of the trouble is simply going against HOF quarterbacks in their house.

One silver lining is that Mahomes had the worst defense ever in college. He knows the pressure of needing a TD on pretty much every drive. Hopefully that college experience is helping him right now.

That's a good point. Rivers and Big Ben are both HOF QB's. Our next three are against Garrapolo ,Casey Casem and Bortles, I bet we get their point totals down to low 20's

As a fellow Raider alum, you are spot on with your posts. The Chiefs have always been a class organization and I was excited to see Mahomes get drafted by them. Mahomes never got rattled at Tech, always showed up to play. Might have tried to do too much thanks to our god awful defense, but that was about the only chink in his armor.

Man you are awesome to come here and share post about Mahomes but like Rain Man it would be cool change that hideous part of your name even if it is your alma mater Tech Red Raiders you can understand we hate the Raider name . Your school should change it to Texas Tech Red Chiefs
