Creepy Crawlies

Found this bastard in my house a few weeks ago. The body was about the size of a silver dollar.

I am pretty sure it was crickets. One of the garage doors is needs to be replaced and does not close completely. So we got quite a few crickets in the garage and basement this summer. I assume that when it started getting cooler this guy moved upstairs where is is warmer.

If you look really close to the ass end of that thing you will see three small nodules protruding. Those remain in the outward position for about 48 hour after giving birth.

I'm not sure why, but the larger spiders like tarantulas don't scare me. I guess it's because all the ones I've seen and held are really laid back and cool. The smaller ones that run around everywhere I don't like though. That one looks to be just a larger version of the running around ones, so I would probably kill it.

Spiders have a bad rep.... just because they're not warm and fuzzy.... they get squished despite all their natural contributions to pest control.

But yet caterpillars are actually destructive as hell to plants, while remaining "cute" because they're shaped differently.

Silly humans....

Also, the caterpillar generally lacks jagged fangs which when dripping with nasty venom shoot hell out of the perception of cuteness.

I'd rather see that then a brown recluse in the baby's room. Or any room for that matter.
