Bienemy is a token interview.

He will be back with the Chiefs.

Also, people act like Bieniemy has been our OC for 3 years and still can’t get a gig.

It took Pederson 3 years and Nagy 2. Why would it be so crazy if it takes Bieniemy another year? It’s not like there were a lot of openings this year. If he misses out again next year then you have a point, but I think teams know that Reid is really in charge of the offense so maybe it’ll take another year for him to get a shot.

I think some of us have a different meaning as to what the "token interview" means. I've always considered it as they're going to get a bunch of meaningless interviews with teams that have already zeroed in on their next head coaching candidate but are interviewing them out of necessity.

I don't think teams care about playcalling experience all that much. At least they shouldn't, anyway. If you're doing the job of an offensive coordinator to a high standard of quality, you're already so invested in play design that calling plays on game day isn't something you're likely to **** up. If you're a shitty offensive coordinator, sure, I can understand that maybe.

Remember. Andy Reid has never once held the position title of "offensive coordinator." Not in college, and not in the pros. And he didn't call plays in Green Bay, either. That was basically Holmgren. He turned out okay.

Ehh seems pretty obvious when this is the narrative going around. Even then I think they’d be wrong.

If the Giants gave Rhule what he wanted, Bieniemy would have probably ended up the HC of the Panthers.

But everyone knows EB isn't putting a game plan together. Nagy and Pederson weren't putting the game plan together either, but at least with those 2 Andy would say that they called all the plays that worked or called the plays in quarters or halves in which the O was successful.

Is there a situation out there this year that would be good for EB? I think the Giants situation was probably the best for him, given that Jones looked better than expected and they have Barkley.

Other than that, he probably would’ve inherited a mess at any of those other jobs. It’s probably in his best long term interest that they passed on him.

He’ll be a hot coaching prospect as long as he’s the OC of an Andy Reid team with Mahomes.

Also, is there any chance he takes a college HC job? Or do you think he’s focused on a pro gig?

He can still make a shitload at a major program.

Or maybe the Colorado job opens up again and he goes back as HC?

You're giving Pederson a lot of credit. Most people believed Reid was calling plays for Pederson until well into his last year with KC. Incidentally, he ended up being a spectacular coach.

These are all terrible examples. There is still not a good explanation for why Wilks was fired. It ranks up with Chudzinski as one of the most WTF moments in quick coach firings. I don't think a single person disagreed with firing Kitchens or Cameron. And there are tons of question marks around Greg Roman. I don't buy that this is a race thing, but these are all really bad examples.

Maybe because his ****ing team finished dead last, which always means there’s the possibility of blowing things up?

That is literally the same reason Cam Cameron was fired and the same exact situation and you say that’s a “terrible example”? Seriously, are you ****ing reeruned?

Are there not a ton of question marks around Bieniemy? Greg Roman has much more experience and success as a OC. Again, are you ****ing reeruned?

I don't think this is that much of a racial issue. There are other stupid reasons he hasn't been looked at.

- Because every year half the teams stupidly won't hire a coach who didn't work for Bellichick or Parcells. It's unbelievable how any dipshit would trust that tree over Reid's.

- Because some front offices are hung up on stupid things he did decades ago.

I like Bieniemy as an OC. Not sure how I feel about him as a HC. But my lord, how can anyone look at that 2019 class and think Bieniemy wouldn't have been a million times better than most of them. Who walks into the Jets front office and bangs the drum for Adam Gase for ****s sake.
