The Greatest Movie Franchises of All Time - East Division Round 2

Links to preceding threads:

You can view the entire tournament bracket here as we go along, but here's the current state of the East division:

Please vote for the franchise in each pair that you feel is most deserving of being in consideration for the Greatest Movie Franchise of All Time. I'll put one of these up every day or two as we go along. So vote!

Possible Concerns and Responses:
  1. A franchise I like isn't on the list! Too bad. Nominations are closed. This is just a fun offseason diversion, but feel free to complain in the thread if it will make you feel better.
  2. There's something on the list that I don't even think is a franchise! Don't vote for it.
  3. There's something on the list that I don't recognize. Yeah, there are a few that I don't recognize either. If you feel generous, look it up and determine if you think it's worthy. Or just don't vote for it. Either option is allowed.
  4. The seeding seems weird (or there's something I have no idea how it got in there). The seeding is based on total estimated tickets from Box Office Mojo, but some older franchises were randomly seeded since we don't have any data available about their ticket sales. Again, if you don't feel something is deserving, don't vote for it!

The highway scene and Neo vs thousand Smiths were worth the price of admission alone.

I'll die arguing that the third one is where the series truly failed.

Went MCU, Pirates, Toy Story and HP.

Wanted to go Matrix, but HP is just so well done.

I also grew up on Toy Story and didn't ever actually watch the Indiana movies until last year so I feel like I missed the magic.

Yeah. I can’t disagree.

Still can’t vote Potter. At least it’s not that god ****ing awful series about vampires and warewolves with that **** Kristen Stewart. The name escapes me. No matter, can’t vote for garbage like that on principle.

I'll give this one one bump since two of them are fairly tight races.

Indy 2 and 4 are just comically bad. Crystal Skull is so bad that folks don't even want to consider it part of the franchise.

Temple of Doom may not be bad as much as it's just such a product of the mid-80s. You don't need IMDB to know that movie was made somewhere within the 84-86 range. Everything about it just feels like a schlocky 80s movie. The color palate is wrong for an Indy movie and the female lead is just all teased hair and cheesy screams w/ bitchy interludes.

If someone told me that John Hughes directed it, I'd take it as an article of faith without even looking it up. "Yeah...that seems right."

It's kinda like Mission Impossible II. I dunno if that movie is truly as bad as I think it is or if it was just a product of its time. But like Temple of Doom, it's damn near unwatchable now (though I'm pretty sure I remember thinking MI:II sucked at the time).
