I don't really get the whole thing to be honest. I can't imagine the jersey color making that much of a difference, but I guess they have to get whatever advantage they can. Players are too superstitious about uniforms. The best was when the San Jose Sharks changed their uniform from this:

In 90 degree weather with tangible humidity you'll take any advantage you can get.

Playing a team whose primary color is black would surely make a difference.
