Anybody ever book a place through Airbnb?
Trying to book a place but it's a little complicated. They want me to send credit card statement to verify my use of my card. Is this legit?

One of our rentals in Costa Rica this summer basically said, "We have cameras in this house because we live remotely and need to be able to see what's happening there."

I'm not exactly a modest person, especially when I'm on vacation, so they may have gotten some good footage. Hah

There were two cameras in plain view, but might have been more. One of the cameras was pretty much directed right at the door to the bathroom, so if you exited after a shower in a towel or whatever... they were on you.

I had a 2 week stay in San Diego (Coronado) that stated it had cameras, I explained that my companion would not accept that and they told us to cover them up and to uncover them when we left the property, It was simple and I liked the fact that my stuff was being looked after.

None of the cameras were in locations that would have been much of an issue to work around There was one covering the bedroom door from inside the bedroom, the slider on the back and the entrance and mud room door. There were none that would record you cooking, dining, getting busy on the sofas or in the bedroom or baths.



I had a great stay but when/ if they want my credit card info/ statement I may send them a copy but the account will close moments later and a new card will be issued.

Stayed in a few, never had a request like this and I wouldn't be willing to comply with it. I'd push back and if they insist then move on to the next option.
