Surprising former Chiefs still in the NFL

In case you're curious, there are 127 active NFL players who have worn a Chiefs uniform in the past, or are currently wearing the uniform.*

A poll will magically appear at the top of this thread with a list of former Chiefs whose continued presence in the NFL might be surprising for some reason. Generally, this is because they either played for us a long time ago, didn't have a promising tenure with us, or both.

Which THREE most surprise you that they're still playing in the NFL? Pick THREE.

*-A few of these are not currently on a team but are still listed as active players who are currently free agents. I'm using the PFR definition of active.

He's got to be close. 263 passing attempts in 13 seasons.

I remember that Vince Evans used to be talked about a lot, but he had a couple of seasons as a starter that blew his chances. 1,390 attempts in 17 seasons for Vince.

Guys like Kpass are a good window into the mind of the average fan--when he was drafted much of the board thought he was going to be a beast pass rusher. He's been gone for two years and has anyone thought of him at all since he went to New Orleans?

Nick Williams - I'm still trying to figure out how he got over 40 tackles and 6 sacks with the Bears in a season. That's most of his NFL production. The Bears apparently knew some secret of unlocking the best Nick Williams that nobody else knows.
Darwin Thompson - I'm still trying to figure out how this clown didn't get cut in his first training camp.
Cam Erving - If you had to pick one example of a terrible offensive lineman, he could definitely be your go-to guy.

I thought Justin Houston’s injuries would get the best of him. Really can’t blame the FO for letting him go as it would’ve been a risky signing at the time. Good on Justin for finding a way to move past it and continue playing at a high level.

He had 4 sacks in the first 6 games of the season for New Orleans in 2021. Then he was injured the rest of the season. But at the time he was doing well I remember saying to myself "why the hell didn't you play like this in KC?!!"

He's exactly the same as he was when he was in KC. Extremely athletic, loves to try and jump routes for INT's, but gets burned a lot as a result. Also doesn't like to tackle. Also still has those character issues we noticed.

Baltimore seems 50/50 on him. Some fans think he's great and they need to build their defense around guys like him, others are really tired of him getting burned and being an emotional time bomb.

All in all, I'm glad he's not here anymore.

From the looks of this list, the Texans signed our entire practice and scrub list.

Maybe that's why they suck.
