Placing a bet at a sportsbook

I've got a buddy who just moved to Las Vegas. If I were to want him to place a bet for me on tonight's Louisville-WSU game, how would I go about it? Obviously he would have to go to a sportsbook, but what should I look for in terms of whether or not placing the bet is worth it? Furthermore, how would I find that information?

Thanks in advance.

When I was in Vegas for the NASCAR race in March, I went to the GVR Sports Book and laid a $10 bet on the over for the Royals' win total for the year (77.5 wins) and then I put $10 on the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl.

The biggest thing they wanted was not names of the teams but the corresponding numbers of the bet.

The other thing I remember was the attendant laughing at me and calling them the as he took my $20.

I placed my bets at the Wynn, really nice book there. Though you only get one drink ticket with your bets for the entire day. If you want more you better be playing slots or tables.

You know, it was just the morning and I was checking out and headed to the race, so I just wanted to get my bet down and go. But yeah, I wanted to toss him across the counter.

yeah, thats awfully high. I think its because gamblers love Louisville and they are thinking "Wichita State? Who?!?! Whatever, they will get smoked."

If you think Wichita State is a legit good basketball team who could win 2 or 3 times out of 10 against LU, then both the +10 line or that huge +435 for betting on them to win both look very attractive.

There's no way I'd bet LU and give up that many points to the Shockers.

Unfortunately I did not. My friend wound up getting a hold of me at the last minute and would have still gotten it in except there was a large line of people at the moneygram store. Missed it by 5 minutes.
