So, what you're telling me is that Spags will have to force McDaniels to run the ball? If so, shit. Spags had a big say in how Shurmur ran the O because he was still adapting how to be an OC(or that's what I've read). That shouldn't be the case with McDaniels though, right?

Doubtful. McDaniels has never put a premium on the TE position.

Good move IMO. Might make the Rams relevant again in a few years. Just in time for their return to LA.

Michael H. showed that he can be decent option when healthy. I think pairing him up with Fells or even drafting someone in the middle of the draft would be a good choice.

I think the Rams WR Corps will look something like this next season:

Avery
Clayton
Danario
Amendola
Gibson
#1 WR from Draft or FA

That would mean Gilyard would be cut(which I don't think is a wise decision).

I'm not saying what will happen, I'm saying what they could do to fortify that team.

They still have one of the worst back sevens in the league, holes at both OLB spots, and James Hall and Robbins are old as shit. That D still needs a complete overhaul.

I agree with the D-Line. Disagree about OLB. Diggs was decent. Vobora and Chamberlain are decent depth guys, but shouldn't be starting. If they draft an OLB in the first 2 rounds(a guy like Mason Foster), that would be okay. Or they draft someone in the 1st round as a DE(I'm crossing my fingers for Clayborn). Later in the draft or in the middle of it, they could draft a NT.

Here's the problem, though:

Diggs is 32. Robbins is 33. Hall is 33. Those guys are really, really old. You can't count on Diggs being a contributor for much longer, especially at OLB.

Furthermore, if you draft Clayborn, you basically have two first round picks devoted to left ends (Long being the other).

And, yeah, it's fine to keep some of your younger starters around as depth, but if you can't count on them to start, you need to be looking for replacements.

You need to upgrade the following positions, IMO.

CB: Fletcher is good, but he's only one guy
OLB: You need two new starters here
DT: You need a bigger NT and a three technique. Carriker busting killed you guys
SS: Dahl reminds me of John McGraw. He can start in a pinch, but I don't think he's good enough for what you need.
RDE: Hall is too long in the tooth.

I actually think that Ayers might be a good fit for you guys, because you could use him in a way similar to how the Redskins used Orakpo as a rookie. Play him at OLB, but bring him down as your RDE on third down.

Eh, I don't CB is a huge need. Bartell and Fletcher are fine. Kevin Dockery was the one that got burned a lot. I agree with you about DT, but I don't think a draft pick would have to start right away. He can split time with Robbins. I agree with you about SS. Rams are screwed at the safety position if Atogwe opts out of his contract or the Rams release him. Agreed about RDE. The only position I feel that has any depth on the defense is LB, but guys like Hull, Chamberlain, Vobora shouldn't be starting. I want Grant gone.

I haven't said this in awhile, but the Rams are have had decent drafts recently. In the past 2 drafts, the Rams have drafted these starters. Fletcher, Saffold, Bradford, Smith, Laurinaitis, Michael H.(I think he starts when healthy) and maybe Murphy if Butler or Dahl is released. Hamas, I like the upside of Jerome Murphy.

The Rams suck and will continue to suck until they get a legit NFL QB.
They should hope and prey that Adam Weber is still available when their turn comes around in the 1st.

Dahl shouldn't be released.

I really liked Saffold and Fletcher, and took them in the 3rd round of the CP Mock in B2B years. I actually totally forgot you guys drafted Murphy at CB. I think he's gonna be solid player, so I'd knock that need down a peg.

Still, you need a more consistent pass rusher, and you have to be at least somewhat despondent that you didn't get someone like Raji or Orakpo instead of Jason Smith, who has been a pretty big disappointment at this point.

I don't think Smith is a bust, but I think he was picked too high. I agree on getting a pass rusher. If the Rams can get someone opposite of Long and someone to study under Robbins for a year, I like the future of the defense.
