What would you consider to be a draft failure?

If we don't get one of the following players in the first round of this years draft I will consider it a failure...
A. Rolle
D. Johnson
D. Pollack
E. James
M. Williams
Personally I think thats alot of wiggle room.

I will consider the draft a failure if KC doesnt draft a TE or FB in the first round.

Would another H-back fulfill that requirement? We lack depth there, you know.

Actually, no. Wilson filled that role as backup, KC really needs a backup FB or TE.

If we trade down again with a great player just sitting there....or draft another project or tweener...instant "F".
Dockett wasn't a perfect fit for Vermeil. He was a 1st round talent with a 7th round brain, which is why he fell to the third. He had been arrested for theft and was known as a dirty player - going after knees, very late hits, etc.

I'm also intrigued by Brandon Browner the 6'4" corner from Oregon. After watching the Chiefs repeatedly get torched on toss up balls in the end zone, a big corner with good hands seems appealing.

Drafting an offensive player in the 1st or 2nd round would be a draft failure to me. Barring injuries, or offense will be in the top 3 next year whether we add new players or not. We need a couple defensive playmakers to balance this team out, and I would hope that we would get a DE or a LB in the 1st round and a CB in the 2nd.

I don't care who we get, but I will consider the draft a failure if the first two picks aren't starting on defense by opening day.

Drafting ANY player, no matter the position, then parking his ass on the bench.... THAT would be a draft-day failure IMO. If you draft a player, that means you intend to utilize him to win football games. You do NOT draft players to sit on the bench.... not in today's league. Pre-1993, sure... there was no cap, you could keep guys around for years while you taught them your system.

I am not opposed to taking a player on offense in the first or second round if that player is clearly a better choice than a defensive player. An example being Mark Clayton, WR, OU.... that guy would be awesome in this system.
