Huskers Rule

It appears that the Huskers are going to finish off perennial powerhouse Maine tonight. Just plan on more of the same. BTW, how about those Sooners? Big Twelve is wide open. Huskers need game time to come together. The flag was flying proud outside the homestead today. Looking forward to the 37 forever weekend. Hope to see some of you there.

His stats look worse than he actually played. One int was bone headed and he should have thrown the ball away instead of trying to force a play. The other was tipped by the receiver. And he had balls that were delivered perfectly that were just flat out dropped. But Nebraska started with 3 2nd teamers playing tonight at WR and the 2nd team TE. But there's no excuse for just flat out dropping balls. It was pathetic. The only thing worse was the Oline play.
But Zac Taylor actually played well and I've no complaint with him.
He's going to be a damn good QB.

Wide open? Not so sure the folks in Austin will agree with that one...I guess you never know.

Guys, Iowa State played 1-AA Indiana State, and at the start of the 4th quarter, they only lead by EIGHT.

The final score was 32-21, but they struggled big time...tied at 8 at halftime. They got beat deep 3 or 4 times and gave up 2 passing TD's over 50 yards (56 and 80).

They play Iowa next week, and Iowa hung 56 on Ball State. It was 49-0 when Tate came out.

The two big concerns were the defensive line and RB for most people. I've been talking about people being paranoid all summer, and it looks like I may have been right -- Iowa rushed for 254 yards with 6 different backs and held Ball State to 131 yards total offense. They did that even though the 2nd and 3rd string were playing from the 2nd quarter on.

The funny thing about Zac Taylor is that he was the third string quarterback at Wake Forest--a team that just lost to Vanderbilt while playing at home in Winston-Salem, NC.

Wake Forest ran the ball for nearly 300 yards and threw the ball for nearly 200 yards, but somehow only managed two TDs.

And Wake Forest is taking its ineptitude to Lincoln where they will let Zac Taylor put up Heismanesque numbers next week because Wake Forest generates ZERO pass rush.

Enjoy!

Wake Forest fan already waiting for basketball season,

They handled Maine with ease compared to how Kansas faired against perenial powerhouse Florida Atlantic. Don't they give out sailing schlorships at F.A.?

With the exception of Texas, The Big 12 has nothing to brag about yesterday. Not one team stood out.

I just checked out the box score. ONE offensive touchdown. (A 1 yard touchdown run). The rest were FG's.

By the numbers..Nebraska...

Zac Taylor, NU's savior, went 15-36, 192 yards, 2 interceptions.
313 yards total offense
3 Fumbles lost

All against Maine, a I-AA team.

The only good thing I saw was they held them to -6 rushing yards on 37 attempts. Thats fairly impressive. The rest...sad.

Still, the Cornholers play a I-AA quality team in Wake Forest, who lost to freaking VANDY, at home.
