Green did restructure or atleast agreed to it.

Either can I. CP must not want Shields here anymore or else he would restructure his contract. Maybe CP thinks Shields will resign for cheap.

I LOVE Shields, but I think it is odd that one minute when he feels like he has the chiefs in the palm of his hand he is unsure whether he will return next year; then when he hears he may be cut, he will play for sure next year. Maybe he took the Chiefs for granted a little. If we choose not to retain him I think Carl will find that he really has taken Will for granted. He is still among the best in the game when in shape and healthy, great lockerroom leader and great in the community.

Even if they cut him, I imagine they will do everything they can to make sure he finishes his career in KC.

I really don't see him wanting to leave either.
