What an Awesome Display of Cunning Pack Mentality!


At times nature can be cruel, but there is also a raw beauty, and even a certain justice manifested within that cruelty.

The alligator, one of the oldest and ultimate predators, normally considered the "apex predator" in it's natural eco-system, can still fall victim to implemented 'team work' strategy, made possible due to the tight knit social structure and "survival of the fittest pack mentality", bred into the canines over the last several hundreds of years by natural selection.

Note that the Alpha dog has a muzzle hold on the gator preventing it from breathing, while the remainder of the pack prevents the beast from rolling.

What's funny is people who are not dog people have absolutely no understanding of why people who are dog people are that way. A number of years ago before you were on the Planet I posted a thread with a poll. It basically said if there was some kind of disaster and you could only save your dog or somebody you didn't know which one would you save? Majority picked their dog and the people who didn't were absolutely blown away. I did the same thing at Orange Mane and got the same response.

It bothers me. For reasons few would understand. I think its a big reason so many curs get bred in the game. Its the #1 rule brutal as it might be, but i still fail to find pleasure in culling(it is what it is) nor do i think its funny.
And i think its way the **** outta hand on CP as of late.

My only question is how do you feel about all the cat-killing jokes? If I had to select one thing about CP that was "disturbing" it'd be the off-handed way people talk/joke aobut killing cats. It curls my blood.

I feel the same towards both dogs and cats -- can't imagine killing either one.

Now if its a wildcat,the only satisfaction i take is that it wont eat my chickens or wildlife but i dont make a game of it.

Then I'm right there with you. And I agree -- big difference between protecting yourself and the stuff you own from a wildcat, just like I'm sure if you had a problem with coyotes you'd take care of that situation too.

But I don't get people who think any of that kind of stuff is hilarious. Someone (forget who) had a cat roadkill picture as their sig for a long time. Maybe they still do. I don't see one little bit of humor in that at all.
