I've been wearing Nike's for years. I have (completely) flat feet, and I very, very, very rarely have any problem with sore feet, blisters, sore ankles or sore knees (one of mine's a rebuilt ACL) so I don't see a reason to change what's worked with me for so long.

For quality regardless of price, definately New Balance. I go through a pair of shoes about every two months at work, so I can't always buy the most expensive. I can get NB from Kohls for under $50 that are always comfortable.
Right now for casual I'm wearing some Soloman tech amphibians that are possibly the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned.

Been running in Asics for the last couple of years. Was previously a Nike fan, but not so much anymore.

The most comfortable pair of shoes I ever had was a pair of Nike Air Agassi's back in the early 90's. But I really don't like to spend that much on shoes if I can avoid it. I have switched to NB recently, not great but better then some of the Nike's I have had recently.

I don't really have a preference, just whatever catches my eye or is on sale.

Actually, I can't tell from your post what you are looking for in the shoes.
For just general, casual use, I've got a pair of these. I had a pair of them in high school that lasted 4 or so years. (until I lost them, not that they became worn out). Just bought another pair of them about a year ago when I saw them in a store window. Most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. Last edited by Eleazar; 06-26-2014 at 01:24 PM.. |

I like to buy the lightest pair of shoes I can find. My first test of a shoe is to pick it up. If it's got a heavy sole, it's out.
I have no particular brand loyalty, though I will say that Nike tends to have the sharpest-looking shoes. I don't even know the brands of the shoes I've got, though. I just go with comfort and weight.

Another New Balance fan here. I recently bought a pair of Nikes after 3 years of NB and after a couple of weeks took the Nikes back because they weren't nearly as comfortable. I'm sporting a pair of NB 609's at the moment.

Nike's never have lasted for me. I prefer Rebok for general athletic shoes and Asics for running/walking shoes.
For casual/non-athletic shoes Sketchers have been great. |

I almost never take my shoes off unless I'm showering or sleeping, and as far as I'm concerned, nothing beats Adidas superstars.
I always play basketball in Nikes though. |

Couldn't agree more. Only tennis shoe I wear is the Adidas Superstar 2G. Have pairs in black, blue, and grey.
