I use Audacity to cut up my own mp3's, then I save them as AIFF files, then I convert those files back into mp3's (I could convert them straight to mp3 if the encoder would work, Windows users might not have to do the extra steps). Then I drop them into the audio folder on my Motorola SLVR.

Thats how you get Tom Tom Club ringtones for free.

Many phones allow you to use a clip you've recorded as a ringer. You can record whatever you want, even a fart - if, for instance, I ever called you or something.
