Time for a new calendar.

I'm tired of all this "30 days hath September" confusion. I'm always trying to remember if this month has 30 or 31 days, and my watch calendar is off, and the whole Gregorian calendar has lost its luster for me. It's time for a change.

What do you all think about these ideas?

Option 1. The Perfectly Predictable Calendar.

13 months, 28 days each + a 1-day holiday at the end of each year. Every fourth year, the holiday is a two-day holiday, making everyone even happier. The nice thing about this calendar is that the 1st always falls on a Sunday every month, and every other day also falls in line consistently each month. There would be no more need for those idiot savants who can tell you the exact day of the week of any date.

Oh, and the 13th month would be Rainmanber.

Option 2. The Six-Day Week, 30-Day Dream.

12 months, 30 days each, with a five-day holiday season at the end of the year. Every fourth year it would be a six-day holiday.

To make it easier, I would lean toward eliminating one day of the week, probably Tuesday, and going with consistent five-week months so we can link days of the week with dates. We would then work four-day weeks of 10 hours each.

Option 3. The Nine-Month, 10-day week Two-Step.

We have 10-day weeks, and 4 weeks per month. We have nine months, eliminating March, June, and September, and the same 5-6 day end-of-year holiday described in Option 2.

We start our week with Sunday, a day of rest. Then we proceed to Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at work. Then we have Cruiseday off. Then we go back to work on Slurpday, Nudeday, and Friday, and have Saturday off to start the weekend.

The nice thing is that, as with Option 1, we would always know the day of the week for any date. For example, the 1st, 11th, 21st, and 31st would always be Sunday, while the 8th, 18th, 28th, and 38th would always be Nudeday.

Anyone else have any good ideas? If not, let's pick an option and start using it.

I think if you're going with the 10-day week you should give people the option of 4 on 1 off, 3 on 2 off or 7 on 3 off. I might kill someone if I had to work 7 straight.

I always thought they called it Humpday so you could go home for a nooner?

Very true. And quite fair. It really depends on the line of work.

I was born on day 320 of a leap year (so February had an extra day). Figuring out where my birthday would fall in the nine month year. Also, will this affect zodiac signs, since they are based on the same type of time concept?

I like them all, personally, though Option 3 intrigues with its two weekends per week.

You were born on November 40th, which would be a Saturday.

I was born on February 12th in the new system, which would be a Monday.
