Jenna Fischer, best known as Pam of “The Office,” and writer/husband James Gunn sent a note to People about the end of their six-year marriage.

“We have chosen to separate. We are sorry for any pain this causes family and friends,” says the statement. “The enthusiasm we have expressed for each other’s lives, spirits and careers is real — we have been each other’s cheerleader and friend during the past six years and continue to be so now and in the future.”

Fischer has an Emmy nomination this year for “The Office.” She’s also in “Blades of Glory,” which tops the national home video sales and rental charts this week.

Gunn wrote “Slither.”

and this is a big deal because...?

before she was on that show, everyone in this thread could have passed her on the street and not given a second look.

I'm not sayin she's ugly, by no means. but not worth creaming your pants over the thought of her being single.

I think part of it is she's GND squared. Not just pretty, but playing a character that very appealing. This attractive office mate you have all these secret jokes and perfect rapport with. She's a girl you'd like to be with, playing the part of someone you'd like to have in your life. Very relatable, if that makes sense.

EDIT - kind of like the belching, fast food eating, good to go, football loving, character that made Cameron Diaz all the rage in Something About Mary.
