Minnesota bars exploit hilarious loophole in smoking ban

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,335771,00.html

Quote:
MAPLEWOOD, Minn. — All the world's a stage at some of Minnesota's bars.

A new state ban on smoking in restaurants and other nightspots contains an exception for performers in theatrical productions. So some bars are getting around the ban by printing up playbills, encouraging customers to come in costume, and pronouncing them "actors."

has anyone been to the bars in olathe? They just have you fill out a form then you are apart of a private club instead of a bar. Seems like a waste of time even passing a law if it is easy to get around it

If you morons would all just stop smoking, we wouldn't have this problem.

ChiefsPlanet should get a class action suit against RJ Reynolds. I think we might be the one "entity" that hasn't sued them. Yet.

True. We should make five states "smoking" states, and cram all the smokers there. I nominate Idaho, North Dakota, North Carolina, Delaware, and Mississippi. Get caught smoking outside those states, and we deport you to Argentina.

Holy shit what a concept.

It's a strange concept I know, but I thought it was worth a try. If this doesn't work, I'll proceed with the bombings until I get my point across that people can do what they want with their lives.

If that doesn't work, I'll hold myself hostage.

Exactly! By you not smoking inside an establishment it allows me, and others, to live how I/we choose - smoke free. You can take your disgusting and unhealthy habit outside and smoke there.

Exactly. As long as the establishment in question is one that you own.
If it is an establishment I own and I choose to allow people to perform a LEGAL act that is strictly my decision as the property owner. Or do you feel that you should be able to tell me what I can and can't do on my own property?

You don't own that property, you're just leasing the building on the property owned by someone else. Now kick the smokers out, before we send a cruise missle up your ass.

I wondered how long it would take this thread to draw out the anti-smoking Nazis.

Congratulations, you're first in. You win a free set of jackboots!

I'd go with Arizona, New Mexico, and California so the smoke would blow into Mexico instead of other states.
