i love my job.

I'm a web developer primarily specializing in apps for eBay and PayPal like USBSwiper (www.usbswiper.com), a point of sale credit card solution for PayPal.

I also do custom integration for small businesses. I work for myself I'm pretty good at what I do so I get to spend a lot of time smoking pot, playing guitar, xbox, lounging on the lake, and oh yeah, sleeping. That's always nice.

Only been doing that this year so we'll see how long it lasts before I gotta get another full time job. Hopefully never! Lookin good so far.

I don't know what a computer plug looks like. Does your dad have DTN? They have a dandy little 17" LCD monitor that only adds $10 per month to your bill. I can give you the number to call to find out about the plug if you wish.

A lot more big companies are doing what Disney is doing on healthcare.

I have a love/hate relationship with my job.
I hate the pressure, the crazy unpredictable hours and that it's one of the first thing cut in a slow economy. Also, getting tired of it.
I love the creative part though.

Sure...pretty easy work with the privileges of isolated workspace (ie Chiefsplanet not on at-work mode). Although, I'd have to say it scared the crap outta me when I came back and accidentally looked at the screen playing Pandemic II instead of the map of realtime airplane comings and goings.

It isn't really 10X but they are so much easier it seems like it. A single receiver DTN install pays $250. A single DTV is $70. Most of what I am getting are upgrades (also $250). I just put up the larger dish and change out the receiver and monitor. I did one yesterday in an hour. Also, DTN pays mileage after 50 miles. Yes, I am an indepenent contractor.

For not having a college degree I enjoy it. I got all my experience from a low paying job. It enabled me to get where I am today.

While the job isn't great I can't complain too much. I don't make great money, but enough to allow me to have some little toys and some fun.

There are parts that I don't like....like the (sometimes) late nights and (sometimes) early mornings, the boss, some of the people in the company, but I think every job has it's ups and downs.

I enjoy my work, like my pay, and like the location. Like I said it's not great pay, but it's enough for small vacations and small toys.

So all in all, for a guy with no college degree living in a small town, I like my job

Most? I wouldn’t make claims as to what a majority do.
In fact IIRC the surveys I’ve read show most people don’t like their jobs.
But regardless, I’ll agree that there are people out there that live for their jobs. Good for them, I couldn’t ever do that. Even if I did something I love, like gear heading or fishing/hunting, I’d get tired of it and lose the love. It would then become a “job” again.
