Herm Edwards wins 2 games and he says the entire staff is back and he grades himself a C.

This "motiviated" team was still 2-14. When you have a ton of young players, they are going to play hard every week regardless of who the coach is because they are always playing for that second contract. I don't attribute this to Herm at all.

Herm's shoddy record helped get rid of Carl. I guess I can thank him for sucking so bad that Carl had to go.

Herm Edwards is a glorified defensive backs coach. He's not a good head coach by any stretch of the imagination no matter how much you have to stretch to find reasons.

Good coaches find ways to win more than 2 games out of 25.

Hey you asked for reasons why I think what I think, you got an answer. If you don't like it, oh well. I guess I just see the team/games/players/coaches differently than you do. Uncertainty for potential head coaching candidates who don't know whether the Chiefs will be another opportunity to consider along with Cleveland, Detroit and the NY Jets. Uncertainty for potential assistant coaches such as offensive and defensive coordinators who don't know if the Chiefs will be an opportunity to join a new coaching staff.

It is not just the internal uncertainty that Clark's lack of quick decision on Herm has created... it is also the uncertainty that is projected externally to potential head coaches and assistant coaches.

The talent that's already on our roster needs to be coached up... frankly we were in a lot of games this year despite our glaring shortcomings and with some additions in FA and the draft (probably around 10-12 starters and rotational guys combined) this team can be a lot better than they were this year. I don't think it will happen with Herm, and I hope he's gone after we hire a new GM, but our cupboard isn't as bare as some would like to think it is.

What improvements? What is he getting accomplished? You people talk like he's Mike Smith. What exactly do we have with this team? We have no defensive ends, 1 linebacker, no right side of the line, average safeties, a one-dimensional QB, a disgruntled RB, a questionable second receiver.

It's mind-blowing to me the standards some of you have.

The NFL is all about wins and loses. You want to tell me he's lost x amount of games by 7 or less points? I say that's a sign of bad coaching. Bad teams find ways to lose.

I'm sorry, if you think he's making improvements and he's good, then you have drank way, way too much of the kool-aid for far too long.
