Any CP Bob & Tom fans?

At one of the radio stations I work with, we're thinking about adding the Bob & Tom show. If you listen to them currently, or have in the past, I'd like to get your input. What do you like about the show? What DON'T you like?
Thanks in advance!

Pittsburg is... the station is NOT in the midwest, however.

I have to agree with what everyone else has said.

I can sometimes pickup a "new rock" station out of Shreveport and they are on during the mornings. They do stupid interviews, laugh at themselves constantly and all around generally suck. There are some haha moments but that doesnt overpower the level of suck.

I dont know the demographic you are in but there is another option that might allow some musical play time still. John Boy and Billy. Another small market type of team but are more "southern / redneck / nascar" but again might appeal to who your listeners are. They have breaks in their show for music so you can still keep that audience but have a morning wack pack playing.

I cant stand Tom or Christy. Bob and Chick are ok, but Tom and Christy ruin the whole show. They occasionally have funny guests but Im annoyed by the show more than Im entertained. For me though its either Bob and Tom or that incredibly boring douche Imus so I still listen to them. Morning radio in Springfield sucks.

Do it then. But be ready for the bitching calls. Then when you dump them in a couple years be ready for the bitching calls agian.

The great thing to me about radio listeners is how they all seem to think we "owe" it to them to do exactly what they want... and bitch at us when we make a decision/change. A change based on the fact that we're running a business that only succeeds by selling advertising... which requires reaching as large an audience as possible. Stop carrying something someone likes... they bitch. Start something they don't like... they bitch. Like we're going to throw business plans in the air because a few people think they own the place just because they listen and should therefor be consulted before changes are made.

If a store changes products they carry here and there I doubt very many people go cussing out management about it. They buy something else. But for some reason radio is there to do only what a given audience thinks it should do. If those people aren't enough to help the stations ratings be where they need to be... and advertising goes down... and revenue goes down... and people lose their jobs... and live jocks get replaced by automation.... God forbid a cost cutting measure was taken or a format change took place. All those listeners should take it as a personal insult to them because we obviously don't care what they want. We wanted to fail... that's why we went with that format you liked in the first place. Too bad there weren't more people supporting the station so we wouldn't have to personally wrong you.

OK I think I'm done with my listener rant now.....

The thing is... the station I'm on now has a great listener base........ unless we ever change I suppose.

There really AREN'T many DJ jobs left, unfortunately. For me, it was management or Walmart.

Thats kinda what I figured. I was listening to a DJ bitch about how hard his job was the other day, and was tempted to call the station and tell them I will work for half of what they were paying him. So he could quit whining, and collect unemployment.

Liked them 7-8 years ago, listened again a year or so ago right before they were pulled from the KC airwaves, wasn't that impressed. Seemed to be more just talking about news items than actual jokes/funny songs/etc.

How do you know what he makes? I guarantee it's not what you think. I'm in management and do a live morning show on one station and two canned shows on two others. I work 8-12 hours a day and most weekends and most holidays and if you're making half of what I make you're living in a box under an over-pass.

Dont worry, the jokes and "funny" songs arent that funny anyway. And they play the same ones over and over until you are sick to death of hearing it. I swear to God if I have to hear the Mr. Obvious dead Mexican dishwasher bit one more time Im going to go on a murder spree and start with that douchebag Tom Griswold.
