Best place to buy golf clubs?

Thinking about getting into golf some, right now I'm borrowing the old man's clubs. I just wanted to know if anyone knows of a website that sells golf clubs cheaply, just so I can price it out if I do decide to buy. Thanks.

There are 2 rules with golf...

1. Nothing about golf is cheap
2. Golf is a four letter word, so get used to it.

They have a lot of stuff from the previous season or two. They've got a lot of good deals if you know what you're looking for. I've bought from them a few times and will buy from them in the future.

Agreed. Have it analyzed by a golf pro at Dick's or Golfsmith, etc, its well worth it. I would add get your clubs fitted also.

(if you buy your clubs at Dick's they fit them for free.)

And yes...yes it is expensive as hell, but also very addictive.

You will start getting the itch around Feb.

Golfsmiths online. You can buy fitted clubs from them and they have a program that you just punch in measurements its pretty easy. I shaved like 10 strokes with custom clubs!

1.I'd also recommend Rockbottomgolf.com

2.also, here's a great message board

http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/index.php?showforum=32

3.Ebay...there may be a few good deals here, but I'd recommend typing in what you clubs you want on Ebay...check "Completed Listings" and see what clubs are selling for on Ebay so that you know if it is a good deal or not.

At the very least you have to know your swing speed. I swing a mid head driver at about 102, so I use an extra stiff- low kick shaft. I swing my irons a little sweeter at about 96 mph, so I have dynamic gold stiff- regular kick shafts. Your golf swing will be more repeatable if you do a little homework and leg work before you buy your first set.

1. Go get fitted at a few places but don't buy.
2. Go home and research their recommendations on shaft flex and kick.
3. Go to Dick's or a pro shop with a driving range and hit as many variations of their recommendations until you find what you want.
4. Get on ebay and very carefully buy what you want.

?

I've always considered buying a club from there, but haven't quite yet.
I've got Cobra irons used a few years back etc; eventually i'd like to upgrade/clubs that fit my style, but not sure I'm good enough at golf to justify dropping tons of $ on clubs etc.

If you want to save some money do the ebay thing, otherwise buy them where you were fitted. I don't recommend buying knockoffs or imitation brands they're just not as good.
