Boulevard is now distributing in Colorado!

I've heard that they were for the past few months, but it wasn't until tonight that I finally found them in a liquor store. Colorado, generally, has Kansas beat when it comes to good brews (IMHO), but I've always missed a good Boulevard Wheat.

Before moving out here, I hadn't really branched out into many of the craft brews, so before today I hadn't tried any of their beers OTHER than the Wheat. So I picked up the sampler, which includes the Wheat, the Pale Ale, Single Wide IPA, Lunar Ale, Bully Porter, and Zon.

Sampling the Lunar Ale currently. It's not too shabby. I like the unfiltered taste, and the aftertaste is very pleasant.

Anyway, just thought I'd share in my excitement over something a majority of you all have had for years.

Was that the first witbier that you've had?

Don't **** with DaFace on the competitive aspects of craft breweries in the Colorado. Dude's done his research.

Is it something about the Zon itself that you don't like, or witbiers in general? I'm personally not a huge fan of witbeirs myself. I can deal with New Belgium's Mothership Wit, but I like something heavier.

Bully Porter gets the nod of approval. I'm currently sampling the Pale Ale. Decent beer, but nothing too special as pale ale's go.

Indeed. I've toured each of those.

I'd also add Boulder Beer to the list as one of the really good "major" breweries. Aside from those, there are a ton of little breweries here and there, some of which are great, and some of which are crap.

We have the smokestack ones here. I somewhat recently tried the triple and quad and they were pretty damn good.

On a side note, I ordered a hot dog at Arrowhead tonight and was delighted to try Blvd's Pale Ale Mustard on my dog...with some sauerkraut and onions...it was delicious.

I use it to make deviled eggs for the tailgates, topped with crispy bacon pieces, the white trash caviar.

On a beer note, I don't know why but I tried a Boulevard Pilsner yesterday and didn't care for it.

just to chime in....

Colorado has some fantastic brews. Love LeftHand, New Belgium, Avery.

I think Boulevard's Wheat is one of the best wheats around.
I really gotta give the thumbs up for Boulevard's Bob's 47, as well.

Another Kansas beer I thoroughly approve of - is Free State's Ad Astra. Similar to Bob's 47. Very good. I believe Free State is planning on bottling in the near future.

The good news is that I don't have to smuggle DaFace Blvd Wheat from the North Country.

They could never haul enough for everyone in Kentucky/Ohio who thought it was the nectar of the gods. It's kind of funny how much better beer is when distribution is limited.

"This beer is awesome!"
"What is it?"
"Oh, don't worry, you can't buy it."
"Really? Now I really want some!"
"Yeah, well, I'm special and have the perfect palate. You wouldn't understand the complexity of THIS beer."
"Does it taste like beer?"
"Well, yeah, but, but, but.... Oh, go buy Budweiser you clown!"
