Bully Porter gets the nod of approval. I'm currently sampling the Pale Ale. Decent beer, but nothing too special as pale ale's go. |

![]() I'd also add Boulder Beer to the list as one of the really good "major" breweries. Aside from those, there are a ton of little breweries here and there, some of which are great, and some of which are crap. |

On a side note, I ordered a hot dog at Arrowhead tonight and was delighted to try Blvd's Pale Ale Mustard on my dog...with some sauerkraut and onions...it was delicious.

On a beer note, I don't know why but I tried a Boulevard Pilsner yesterday and didn't care for it. |

just to chime in....
Colorado has some fantastic brews. Love LeftHand, New Belgium, Avery. I think Boulevard's Wheat is one of the best wheats around. I really gotta give the thumbs up for Boulevard's Bob's 47, as well. Another Kansas beer I thoroughly approve of - is Free State's Ad Astra. Similar to Bob's 47. Very good. I believe Free State is planning on bottling in the near future.

The good news is that I don't have to smuggle DaFace Blvd Wheat from the North Country.

When I was a kid Coors had a very limited distribution. It wasn't available east of Kansas or Missouri, I don't remember which. Anyway, my sister and bro-in-law lived in Louisville, KY and would haul cases back there from Kansas. They could never haul enough for everyone in Kentucky/Ohio who thought it was the nectar of the gods. It's kind of funny how much better beer is when distribution is limited.
"This beer is awesome!" "What is it?" "Oh, don't worry, you can't buy it." "Really? Now I really want some!" "Yeah, well, I'm special and have the perfect palate. You wouldn't understand the complexity of THIS beer." "Does it taste like beer?" "Well, yeah, but, but, but.... Oh, go buy Budweiser you clown!" |
