Post Superbowl Mock

This is my first attempt at a mock this year.

Chiefs Picks

1. Eric Berry, Safety, Tennessee - Best player in the draft falls to us at 5.

2a. Terrance "Mount" Cody, NT, Alabama - 370 lbs will be in 350 range at combine. Slides to 2nd round. Just what the Chiefs need is a NT that eats blockers.

2b. Daryl Washington, ILB, TCU - Chiefs upgrade the speed at linebacker.

3. Lagarrette Blount, RB, Oregon - Teams with Charles for a good 1 2 punch.

4. Dan LeFevour, QB, Central Michigan, A big, strong QB with a good, not great arm and more touch than Cassel will carry clipboard for a year then challenge for starter.

5a. Eric Olson, Center, ND, should start season at center

5b. Denario Alexander, WR, MU. Many have Barnes out of Bowling Green here lately, but I saw a lot more of Alexander play a lot more. He needs to work on routes, but he's reliable and is a big target.

5c. O'Brian Schofield, OLB Wisconsin - Schofield probably would've gone higher had he not been injured Senior bowl week. Schofield when healthy takes Vrabel's spot.

Gerhart is a slower and less talented Brian Leonard. We all know how well that turned out. No to Gerhart

For all those people who say no to Gerhart.. Go back and look at the game tape of him against USC Notre Dame and Oregon.. We don't need a fast running back, we need a bruiser that will always get the tough yards and someone who will be great for pass blocking. Oh and did i mention he went to school at Stanford, he would be the smartest player on our team!!

For all those people who think Gerhart is an NFL RB, you need to choose between college or Pros, because you clearly can't handle the difference between them.

Thats right i forgot that college and pros are completely different. If that were the case no one would be a good pro. Clearly if your good in college then it wont translate into the pros??

So what your saying is since Tim Tebow is the best QB in NCAA History hes going to be the best QB in NFL History since all NFL QB's were College QB's? You sir, are a ****ing idiot.

More often than not if your good in college you will be solid in the pros if you have the right setting and love the game. Tebow was not the best QB in College he just happened to be the starting QB for a great team. His teammates made him good. Gerhart was the best player on a team that wouldnt have won 4 games without him. He was the entire offense and he still had 27 TD's and around 1800 yards. Why would we draft Blount to be our back-up in the 3rd round when we could draft Gerhart in the 4th or 5th to be a back-up??

That's not a good argument when Stanford has a QB on it's team that's a likely 1st round pick.

And the simple answer is Blount is a ton more talented.

Because Blount translates as an NFL RB and because Gerhart translates as an NFL FB. I can go on and on and on about great college players who weren't anything in the NFL.

Blount was a running back. Gerhart was a running back. Go look at where Blount projects to be drafted and go look at where Gerhart projects to be drafted. Add in the fact that Blount got suspended for almost the entire season and the fact that Gerhart was runner-up in the Heisman voting and i still say take Gerhart for our one two punch at RB. Why would we take the risk of drafting Blount??

To me that actually favors Blount, the body only has so many carries, he's fresh Gerhart has been ridden hard.

And the character argument is the only reason Blount is even a discussion for a 4th round pick, the guy was a projected 1st rounder before all this.

Whats funny is when you said runner up for heisman the first guy to pop into my head was Brad Banks, who didn't get a sniff from the NFL. What Heisman WINNERS like White and Crouch? Your just full of fail.

Mecca how does that favor Blount. Gerhart is being drafted to be our work horse and neither is Blount so carries in college wont be a factor. Also i really hope our GM and coaching staff will be smart enough to not draft a player with that many character issues. If a guy who was once a projected 1st round pick falls to the 4th or 5th that means no-one wants to take the gamble.

Character is extremely overblown, mid round picks the risks are worth the picks.

Toby Gerhart runs way to straight up and will probably get moved to being a fullback.

Hell I'd take Stafon Johnson before I took Gerhart. Jamaal Charles with his build should never ever be a workhorse back unless you'd like him to miss a lot of games.
