They still bring out the World Series trophy from 4 years ago? That's pretty funny. Maybe they will carry goose eggs this year in honor of your playoff performance last season. They might even throw one of them off Holliday's balls.

I haven't been this down on baseball for a long time. Maybe it's because K-State basketball is doing well. Maybe it's because I'm about 98% sure the Royals are going to suck. Maybe it's because I'm just sick of the way baseball does business (no salary cap, the Yankees, etc.), but I have little to no interest in baseball this year. I'll probably watch the games on TV when I'm bored and go to the K to watch a Grienke game or 2, but that's about it.

I'm the same way. I usually get excited and enjoy the first part of the season... right up until the inevitable nose dive...

But there doesn't seem to be anything to get excited about this season. I'll watch, because it's the only sports option I'll have for a while after college basketball ends... but I can't say I'm looking forward to it.

I've felt that way about baseball for about 20 years. I haven't been to a game since 94 and I couldn't name any player on the Cardinals or Royals besides Grienke.

I sure would like to see the Royals give it a good run this year. I just recently got back into baseball after several years. Is .500 too much to ask? They weren't horrible last year.
