***Official 2010 draft prediction (1st round) thread***

It's 3 days until the draft, and time to make your official final prediction on who the Chiefs will select with their first round pick. Vote for who you think the Chiefs will select, not who you want them to select.

Assume we stay at #5, but feel free to post official trade down predictions in the thread.

How the hell is Berry leading the poll? For the last 2 months all I've read on this board is that Pioli is a moron and is going to pass on Berry for a "safe" pick. Was everyone just bitching for the hell of it?

We're giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Our first round pick is about locking up a position for the next decade, and that is why I think the pick will be Berry.

Berry will make Flowers and Carr, who make up our biggest strength, better on day one. We have invested a lot on the defensive side of the ball recently, Jackson, Dorsey, DJ, Hali, were all #1 picks. We can't turn away now, lets plug in the missing piece and see what Romeo can do with them. This pick is about getting a playmaker, and Berry fits the bill better than anybody else.

We also need to be on the hunt for linebackers in this draft.

I can't tell you how excited I am. This draft could totally change the direction of this team. We have the luxury of grabbing a playmaker like Berry at 5, and looking at WR, LB, and OL in the 2nd and third rounds.

I can't wait.

This. And frankly, Berry is one of the top 3 safest players in this draft.

There is no way we draft Berry. Pioli doesn't have the testicular fortitude to pull it off. Clausen or Bulaga will be the name announced Thursday evening for us.

My prediction is that the Chiefs will trade with Cleveland. The Browns will take Clausen, the Seahawks will take Berry and the Chiefs will then take Dan Williams (or McClain, though I think it will be Williams).

Nothing wrong with taking Clausen. Actually that would take more testicular fortitude than taking Berry IMO.

I have absolutely no faith in Scott Pioli.

However, in the back of my mind, I just cannot believe we wouldn't take Berry. Maybe it's just irrational hope, but I truly do think we'll end up with Berry.

Scott, please don't let me down....again.

Wait a minute! I thought "safe" was stupid and short sighted? The last few years around here saying a player is "safe" has been the ultimate sin. What gives?

I think Berry given who I think will be there, but Clausen is a definate possibility.

course with this team, sadly any player on this list is possible....

Almost everything is RePoSt this time of year. What else do we have to do except re-hash, re-hash, then re-hash more.

When 'safe' = guaranteed mediocrity; safe sucks.

When 'safe' = Has a ceiling as high as anyone in the league but a floor higher than all but a very select few; safe is pretty good.
