that's just it ... what he needs to be is irrelevant. We want a QB that can carry the team on his back, when needed. If Cassel is unable to do that then we need to keep looking for our future QB.

This idea that you can find a way to win with a sub par player at any position is just an excuse for bad talent acquisition. It's why Martyball ticked me off so much ... why handcuff yourself voluntarily?

Agree completely. He's still better than our other current options though, and I wouldn't have wanted to try to take a QB in the draft this year anyways, so he'll do for now.

I sincerely wish that somebody would make one of those animated gif things of that scene in the locker room where Mark Castle gives that ingratiating, doofus-like grin to Vrable who ignores him completely ... just a close-up of those two would be great. I would really like to email that to someone.

No idea, Mr. GoChiefs. It was posted (or a link was, I can't recall) in a thread within the last week, or so.

It was the locker room scene after the SD game, I guess. Where they were gathering around #22 and doing the 1, 2, 3 "Chiefs" deal. Mark Castle makes an obvious and entirely pitiable attempt at ingratiating himself to Vrable who, in turn, gives him a little taste of the alpha dog.
