We'll probably find out later this year...if you get past MU.

My opinion as an outsider is that they don't have the weapons to compete with the talent on these teams although they're good enough that it shouldn't be embarrassing.

Pretty much. They've closed the gap a tad talent wise, certainly scheme wise on defense, but Pinkel's insistance on running a pure spread attack holds Mizzou back, imo. They are what they are every year - an 8-10 win team that won't win the Big XII.

Pinkel needs to add a couple of formations. He is stubborn. By the way he was on my flight this summer seemed like a really nice guy. Flew coach and didn't even sit next to his family lol (saving money I guess). I'll put it this way I got the cheapest freaking flight I could find and he had the same seats I did except they split the family apart.

The pro set might be good for Gabbert, but whatever system they run, they don't have a big-time runningback or game-breaking receiver. They could really use their own Daniel Thomas and maybe TJ Moe will be something but he's not Franklin or Macklin or Denario Alexander and I don't think there's a Rucker or a Coffman at tight end.

FAIL.

Henry Josey...remember that name. Kid is turbo fast...father used to hold the U.S. 100 meter record. Josey is faster than any MU RB I've ever seen play and that goes back 45 years of going to games.

TJ Moe has more than met expectations, and almost single handedly pulled MU's bacon out of the fire against SDSU. He has made more of an impact at this point of his career than did Franklin or Alexander...no mortal can compare to Maclin.

Egnew has been excellent at TE, and is extremely athletic. He compares very favorably to Rucker or Coffman, and projects better at the next level than either of the other two.

MU's spread isn't perfectly suited to Gabbert the way it was for Daniel. However, from what I saw of the Whorns yesterday, MU could definitely beat them this year. We'll see how things go with OU in a few weeks in Columbia.

Less talented teams Big 12 teams have been beating these teams, especially Texas, since the Big 12 was formed. Despite having the best talent basically every season, Texas has only won the Big 12 two or three times.

Every team in the Big 12 this year looks like they could lay an egg and lose any given game. I wouldn't bet money on MU beating OU this year, but it isn't out of the realm of possibility.

Missouri doesn't play Texas. They play Oklahoma and Nebraska back-to-back, one home, one road. Those were the teams I was referring to there...

I'm not sure I like the odds for the Tigers in either of those games, although I hope they win them both. I'd probably favor them in every other game on their schedule although at aTm and at Texas Tech will both be trouble.

(nasty four games in a row there)

If OU does not learn how to put away teams, MU may very well beat them. Last two weeks, they have had 14pt 4th quarter leads and let the other team back into the game.
