Hindsight being 20/20 and all...

Rewind the clock back to 2009 before Pioli and Haley were brought in. Clark just got rid of Peterson and Herm and the two most important, non playing, positions on a football team are still vacant.

Do you back up a truck full of money for Cowher to come back to KC to be HC/GM? Do you push for Rex Ryan? Who would be your pick for HC?

As for the GM position, I will admit my ignorance of who was available at the time so I cannot comment. Who else was out there that had better cred than Pioli?

I don't get this? Cassel has been his boy just as much as Piolis. I'm not buying Haley not wanting Cassel.

The very first game without Cassel, they bring Muir down to the field out of the booth and Haley takes over the direct communication with the QB via the headset.

Something smells rotten...

Yeah, they were doing things with Palko that they never did with Cassel.

I'd say the Cassel era is officially over. Woo Hoo

I don't care about that. Well I do but that is different perception. I've heard Pioli talking about how him & Haley stay on the same page at the end of the day after talks about what's best for Chiefs and they keep Clark in the loop. So it's both of there decesions to go with and stick with Cassel for untill he get hand " injury ". Cassel is on both Pioli and Haley as far as I'm concerned neither get a get out of jail free card.

There was a sizable contingent of the board (Drafturbators, I think they were called) who were on the DeCosta train. Little hindsight needed here because some of us had foresight all along.

He had already hired Pioli long before Herm was let go. Clark wanted Piolo to keep Herm, which he did for too long in critical early off season weeks. That was BIG part of the problem!

Pioli brings Cassel. There is no alternate timeline with Pioli in place. All roads end in misery.

I was all for DeCosta or Pioli. I was not on the Dominik bandwagon, and didn't get on the Polian train once I read more about him.

I don't know how much we can tell about DeCosta, he's kind of in the same place that Pioli was in that you know his organization is successful and he is a key cog, but how would he do on his own in a totally new organization? How much of that is Ozzie Newsome?

Hindsight being what it is, I guess coachingwise you hire Ryan (that coaching class of 2009 is like the draft of 2009). I'm not a great fan of guys that like to hear themselves talking, but on the flip side he knows defense and players want to play for him, which would help us with free agents. That said, it would have been back to Martyball with him in charge, so while he may have gotten us back in the playoffs, I'm not sure how many people would be satisfied going back to a team that grinds out defensively and has their QB on the leash...

I wanted Fisher but in hindsight I would have gone after Harbaugh.

I still wanted us to pick Matt Flynn. But then, again, I was wrong about JaFatass.

Everybody was excited about Pioli. be honest. The hype was just a little off. There was obviously more in play in New England than him, even if it was dumb luck.
