I don't know why McDaniels would be the best candidate for the job. I hate to pull the "outside of NE" card... but even most of these NE assistants that have failed have at least shown some degree of success in coaching their preferred side of the ball. McDaniels hasn't shown he can do a single thing outside of NE.
