It wasn't so much that he called the timeout, it was that he left 15 freaking seconds on the play clock when we called it. Just a boneheaded, clueless move not to let :14 more run off. Then--since we were already in range for a game-tying FG at the very least--not to run on a couple of those downs to force SD to use timeouts was completely boneheaded. How some of these guys make it to HC in the NFL with no more grasp of the time management concept is totally beyond me, but it sure happens a lot with some coaches. The only way we could have lost today's game in regulation time was to mismanage the clock as badly as we did. I like Reid, but there's absolutely no excuse at all for mismanaging the clock during crunch time like we did today. NONE.

Exactly. And we should've coached accordingly, but we didn't. This loss is on the fat man, and I hate saying that. THE ONLY WAY we lose this game in regulation time was to screw up the clock at the end, and that's exactly what we did.

The defense was terribad for 60 minutes of play and you guys want to pin it all on 15 seconds of clock management?
Today was on suttons lack of adjustment, plain and simple. |

Chiefs players to Andy;
What you're hired for is to help us--does that seem clear to you? To help us. Not to **** us up...to help men who are going out there to try to earn a living. You fairy. You company man... You want to learn the first rule you'd know if you ever spent a day in your life...you never call the TO until the play clock runs. You ****ing child...

Poor clock management should have been expected. He's been making these strange game ending decisions for years.

I get the timeout but I do not get calling it with 15 seconds on the play clock. Then to come out and pass on the next play was extremely lame. There was enough time to do whatever they wanted but it was like he was conserving time when there was no need to conserve time.

Reid treated the 5 minute mark with 3 TOs like the 3 minute mark.

You just made our point for us. The defense did nothing but play badly after Hali and Houston went down. So all the sudden our coach expects something different? Everyone could see how the defense was playing, so that's EXACTLY why time-management becomes so crucial. San Diego should have never had the time/timeouts to make that last, inevitable TD drive.
