What kind of puppy? If she's a mutt, is she a large breed or small breed?

I went with another Shetland.

I think I want a 2nd dog here in the next couple of years, though. I would really like to own a mastiff at some point in my life.

That's what they say at cigar bars.

Beer before whiskey is risky, already committed.

Yeah, considering the subject matter, Lockdown is actually a pretty easy watch.

Just pretty amusing how prisons have to handle themselves logistically, and how prisoners run their social hierarchies inside of it.

Come on up. Enjoy some late night bullshit, Saturday night style.

Probably not how we ideally wanted to spend it, but you go to war with the Saturday night you have, not the Saturday night you want.

That being said, I figured since we're upstairs, let's break out some cigars. Since it's the internet, I've got an unlimited bar.

Here's some shit I've been thinking about. Feel free to comment, introduce some thoughts of your own, or just shoot the shit. First person to pass out tonight gets the guest bed, but they have to clean up after everybody in the morning.

1. I got into a debate with The Bad Guy in the Draft forum about how worth it it is to draft 3-4 DEs in the first round. I can't help but think they are very, very important positions in the 3-4... You're asking a guy to occupy more space, facing an even bigger numbers disadvantage, and to get push in the pocket while shutting down the run. It's no ****ing wonder why there's only five guys in the league who play this position really, really well -- and why the defenses they play on are regarded as among the league's best. 3-4 DE is incredibly important, and definitely worthy of a 1st round pick -- he admits as much anyway, since he advocates somehow landing Michael Bennett in the offseason.

2. I smoked a couple cigars a few weeks ago. It was heavenly. There is only one good cigar bar in Springfield, and it's never open it seems. I know the cigars are like an art, or something -- I went to a cigar bar in Indianapolis and they had a gigantic menu of cigars, described like they were fine wines, and some of them were like $50. Yeah, no thank you.

I think my favorite thing about cigar bars is how ****ing comfortable and sleek they are. Leather furniture, extremely well decorated. They never have a full enough bar for me (they never serve stout beer, it seems), but they're just the perfect atmosphere for me. I wish more bars, cigars or no, were set up like that.

3. So we've got a brand new puppy in the house now, now about 8 weeks old. I ****ing hate it. I just wish my old ****ing dog was still around. I had everything down to a science with that dog. She was well behaved, after years of training, and I could tell her how to do anything with just a quick snap of the fingers or a monosyllabic command.

This new puppy: none of that. She's just a puppy, I know, but Christ. It's just making me miss my old dog more. She doesn't listen to me just yet. She requires constant supervision as she chews on everything and pisses everywhere. We have a good rapport and everything but she's not even sleeping through the night yet. She's whining in her kennel at 3am every morning, so I have to put a puppy jacket on her (because it's too cold for her), and take her outside at 3 in the morning before she pisses in her kennel.

People are like "yeah, well, try having a child." You're missing the point, Hypothetical Asshole. My point is: this is too much work for a dog. She's going to grow up and just be a dog. She will do dog things. If I were raising a person who will eventually grow up, have conversations and self-actualize, it would totally be worth it. But right now, it does not feel worth it.

Infants suck just the same. Do you not have kids? If you did you'd know that. People say you'll miss it when they're big, but that of course is not true. They get so much better

I believe it is a Welsh Corgi, but it could be a Trayvonski.

My "new" lab is now a year old. I wish I could tell you it's going to get better soon, but it won't. Anyone who has owned labs can attest to the transformation they go through at about 3-4 years of age then again at 8-9. I had an old lab who was perfectly happy to fat ass it all day. This "puppy" can be a holy terror. Needs so much exercise as well if we don't want his raising hell.
