I wouldn't buy one of their cars now even if it was apricot. They have desecrated my sport. It's 1937 China all over again.

You might as well tattoo the whole field with ads just like the NASCAR jumpsuits. This is ridiculous.

What if it was pitched to the NFL first? Still throwing out the baby?

Everyone involved needs to be flogged. If it was your idea ... flogging. If you approved it ... flogging. If you designed the logo ... flogging. If you answer the phones at the company that built the equipment that produced the image ... flogging. If you're the freshman English teacher at the college of the person who had the idea ... flogging.

This is the worst idea ever. It's worse than the WKRP turkey drop.

Do you ever get to offer any guidance on car colors? Because I have some ideas that can make you look really good.

He's not quite to the point where he gets to help pick colors. But they do pick him up in a private jet from time to time.

Wouldn't matter anyways. Love him, lots, ok? But he's very much in control of any room he's in. He still orders food at restaurants for my mother and me. We sit passively. That guy.

My opinion would be met with the condescending smile bestowed on a younger woman. I may even get a pat on the head. I've never had penis envy. I like being a girl. But there are moments when I wonder what my life would have been like the other way.

You can always freelance. If you can put together a good book of lines/body copy you can work for anyone. I get books sent to me all the time by guys with little to no experience. Some of them are good enough that we actually use them.

If you can write you can write. A degree and experience just makes it easier to get your foot in the door. My ECD has no degree. Got his job by showing off ads he'd written for the Thrifty Nickel to DDB in something like 1975. He's a badass and he has no formal education.

But putting it on the field is just going to piss people off and create a distaste for your brand and your advertising, no matter where it appears from then on.

This is just stupid.
I lost the KFC account(local coupons) due to corporate raising franchise advertising fees to help sponsor Thursday Night Football on NFL Network a couple of years ago.

So there I am watching the pregame and the Colonel's face is on both sides of the panel,go to commercial and the KFC ad is for a weekend special not even valid on Thursdays.

I haven't read this thread or OP, but just wanted to let everyone know that I had a sudden urge to test drive a Toyota last night and I now own a sweet new Camry.

There's a blast from the past my first real advertising job was with Thrifty Nickel in 1984

That's embarrassing both as an NFL fan and as the owner of a Toyota Tundra. I'm driving the mercury to work this evening.

I wrote ads for Richard Head Toyota in Columbia in the 1980's. I wrote "Get a Dick Head Deal!"

They didn't buy it.

Not sure why....
